Wtdooms stupid question of the week , abs , the end of mods?

Forgive me for being stupid but I just thought of something regarding abs .
If you have an abs / linked brake system bike like my r1 for example , does that mean you should never change the brake calipers ?
I've always enjoyed making small modifications to my bikes over the years , does having abs and lbs make this impossible or do the calipers somehow not matter ?
Genuinely interested , feel free to give a detailed response if you have time please .

Has anyone actually modified a bike with abs with different calipers ?

Only possible problem would be if you fitted substantially better calipers, the ABS might not be calibrated for their initial bite and stopping power. If the ABS computer sees a more rapid rate of deceleration, it may release the pressure effectively negating the better brakes.
However, if you can switch the ABS off, for track use etc, then you should still see the benefit of better brakes

But won't the sensors etc be calibrated for a particular level of function , or am I missing something ?

That would be a no then , Id imagine re calibrating an abs system is not an easy task ?

Neither really . Im getting new levers and found a lovely brembo with master cylinder set up . That got me thinking initially about this question .
I have since found cheaper and better ( for my needs ) adjustable levers , so the original question is dead but I have come across a question that I find really intriguing ( to me at least ).
Unless Im missing something ( likely to be fair ) ABS bikes may well almost be the end of the aftermarket brake upgrade rendering them obsolete .
