Going over for some pre-season football, land on the beaches in Belfast, then down to Drogheda. I have about 4 hours to kill.

Please recommend me a route, preferably one where I wont be shot by any gun-wielding, IRA loyalist, Celtic fan.

The 3 loves in my life are Falkirk, bikes and tobacco. If that doesn't paint a picture of a culture vulture what does.

Other than the A2 Causeway Coastal Road is in the opposite direction. dependant upon your time scales it is well worth picking that up at Larne following it around to the top of the island, Ballintoy, Portrush and Port Stewart then coming back down through Coleraine and the Antrim Glens skirting Belfast then picking up a fast road to Drogheda. I did that a few weeks ago and someone on here from that area offered to meet us.Sorry I forget who it was but it may be worth an ask on here.
If you've time, head from belfast through holywood to bangor, follow the coast on out round through donaghadee, millisle and on round the ards peninsula to portaferry. Either Get the ferry across strangford lough to portavogie then down through downpatrick to newcastle or back up the peninsula to newtownards then down to newcastle. Follow the coast round from newcastle through kilkeel, warrenpoint to newry. Newry to carlingford to dundalk then drogheda.
I get there at 10 then need to be at Drogheda for 2pm, doesn't leave me enough time to do the routes.
