So i'm told

Well I asked for a test ride to my local yamaha Dealer asking via email if I can test ride the new R1.

Their reply:
Hi Matthew

Thanks for your enquiry.
Unfortunately due to the stock situation with R1’s, ie Yamaha have sold out, we do not have a demo of this model.

If there is anything else I can help with or you wish to discuss further please let me know.
Kind Regards

So seem's apart from calling various Dealers which I honestly can's be arsed to do as i'm in no rush I will have to wait until next spring for a test ride. thats fine with me. I'll just have to wait.
Thing is the only 2 bikes I really fancy is the Panigale 1299 and new R1. I don't want to wait another 2-4 years if the rumors are true about no new Blade coming out until 2017-2019 ( more like 18-19)

So seem's the new R1 is rather popular, or they yamaha under estimated how many they are going to sell.
I know dealers will have them in stock but won't be allowing test rides if they are selling without the need for one. But for me a test ride is essential to see if it's what I want. but that's just me

Who said sports bike sells are not selling

I know up until a weeks ago they had 2. having bikes is one thing letting people test ride is another.

I may see who else is a dealer local to me and see what they can do

I understand the 1299 will be a little more exclusive but before I buy I want to get a idea of what else is out their and what they have to offer.

I'm going the the NEC bike show in Dec. Will have a look about at what else might be worth looking at but really all the interests me is the 1299 and R1. And if the new blade was out sooner that would be again top of my list

I'm not going to rush anything, as I said I'm in no rush.

I'm intending to keep my blade and use it on track only. Well thats the thought at the moment and even the wife is happy with that (Considering I have a few other toys in my garage).

as for the BM 1000rr i did test ride this back in 2010 and would like to see how it's changed over the last 5 years. So that would be on the cards at some point for a test ride.

The riding position is as aggressive as an old ducati, not a lot of fanboys will put up with that when the other bikes are more road friendly. Surely once the hype has died and the next best japanese thing is here next year, the market will be flooded with r1.
If the riding position is that bad then that's not good for me. Of course I may have a different view after a test ride as we are all different.
I don't want a sports bike that's going to give me back and wrist ache after a hour.
Why i was surprised with how comfy the 1299 was when I test rode this

I don't expect much from Fowlers with test rides, which I knew before asking them so was not taken back when they said they have non.

But nice to know some dealers want to sell bikes and/or give test rides.
