Rode down to St Albans to meet up with my mother for a very early round of golf (6:20 start). Meant that it was dark when I left. Realised that it was the first time I had ridden properly in the dark! When I used to ride it was just for fun so during the day and only when dry. Since getting back on a bike last year I have been using it as transport as well but only ridden around town when dark - never without street lighting. A bit pathetic that it has taken me this long.

Almost as pathetic as my golf. Finally got around in less than 100. To be fair only really taken it up the last few months. First birdie too.

After the golf went to test the Panigale 1299 S (first ride on one). Picked it up from dealer in Barnet. Took some time to ride North and find a half decent road. When I did it was very enjoyable. Very different feel to the S 1000 R, as you would expect. Not difficult to ride but more difficult than the BMW, which is really friendly.

Loved the grunt coming out of the corners and handling was nice around sweeping bends. Downside is that suspension much harder - hit a bump in the road at speed and had a balls/petrol tank interface that had me wincing for a bit.

Felt comfortable enough. Vibrations through the throttle making my hand go numb was the worst problem.

If I only had one bike I wouldn't replace the S 1000 R with the Panigale. The 1299 is better at times than the BMW and looks much nicer but the BMW is more versatile. Would have to be in addition but not sure that the 1299 is sufficiently different and better to warrant having two bikes.

Took the Panigale down the road where I had my big accident (on a 748). So first time back there on a Ducati. Of course it is just a road. No more dangerous than others. But it is in mind when I pass the spot. I refuse to let it affect my riding (negatively) and still overtake on that road if there is a safe opportunity.

Oh the way home I saw a Porsche 918 driving on the road for the first time. Saw it in the distance but only figured out what it was as I went past.

Golf, fking Golf.

My Day of many mundane st.

Today I got up, It was dark outside, I had two Weetabix coated in sugar and a cup of tea.
I smoked some fags on the way to work in my taxi that has the same floor pan as a Golf not the pishey game, by the time I got to work I was bursting on a ste, I try not to have a st in my own time as I don't get paid time and a turd, so for most of the journey I'm chewing my boxers.
I ate a caramel log, then a tea cake, I drew some lines and st.
Then had my lunch.
Me - 3 hours of golf and 4 to 5 hours riding superbikes

You - work and posting on BB

One does sound mundane to me

Ps I am off the pub now with the wife. Enjoy the rest of your working day smile

In the pub and the wife says "I fancy a cigarette". Has been at least a decade since she last
smoked and almost the same for me. I'm easily
led astray so agree to pick up a packet on the way home so we can have one in the garden.

£5 for a pack of ten!!! WTF!!!

Used to cost about 35p from the corner shop on the way to school.

Feeling old!

I saw someone riding a Panigale in St.Albans today. They turned off Hatfield Rd and down Lattimore Rd at about 1530. Wasn't you, was it?
I was on Coopers Green Lane but a couple of hours earlier than that.

How do you carry your golf bag on a bike? One of the reasons why I drive to work rather than take the bike is so that I have my clubs handy for an impromptu after-work round if one or two of my golfing colleagues are around.
Carrying a bag of clubs would be impressive (although having seen whole families balanced on stty scooters in India I suppose not impossible).

My mother has a spare set (mottley collection of a few clubs from different manufacturers). I leave my helmet and textiles in her car whilst we play.
