Trying to remember a race

Can anyone remember a race from a few years back, *someone* kept crashing in abysmal conditions and just got back on and kept moving back up the field only to bin it again. It *might* have been a Ducati but I can't really remember

I think it was Bayliss at Silverstone But it was race 1 in 2002!
