Just interested to know if any of the PH BB have a H2.

Popped into Bristol Kwak last Friday with the wife as we where passing. just on the unlikely off chance their would be one in the shop. There was not.

I've never had a Kawasaki before. I do like the H2 a lot.
talking to the sales guy who said there would be more chance of me winning the lottery than getting a test ride before I buy. Which i always said I would never do before buying a bike.

just interested to find out from owners about the bike. Any issues? How comfy, How high or low are the running costs. What the mirror glass finish paint is like to keep clean and scratch free.

Bristol Kawasaki will have one in around Feb and they will be giving me a bell to go down and have a look at it

Anyone

I'd rather have a new R1M or ZX10 than the H2, or both It just looks like a bike that's the dumbed down road legal version of the bike they really wanted to build.
As in the H2R? it is the dumbed down version of that bike

I know, they wanted to build the H2R which is a nice halo model bike, the H2 isn't anything other than a dumbed down version of that IMO and at best a curio. The ZX10 will be a far better bike on every level.
And much more common. Much like the Ariel Ace I'm looking at I don't want something you will see every day. And want something that my heart wants and not my head. if that makes sence

Having seen the lovely R1, Busa, 1299S, RSV4 etc... it was only the Ace that caught my eye and having liked the H2 sine it was lunched i'm trying to get a idea on ownership of a few bikes that I would really like to spend my money on, Enjoy and keep and still love in years to come

I've seen on on the road when I was over Wales for a blat in the kit car. Seen it in the flesh at the shows

cheers for the feedback. I've also read the insurance for a bike over 20k is going to be more which I would expect. Currently with Bennett's and would have though they would be able to cover but would need to call them before to check to be 100% sure they do

I love the looks, and I was not going originally going to spend as much on a bike and was hoping to keep the blade which I won't be doing if I spend this much on one.

The main reason for upping my limit on a bike was the wife strangely. After talking her to about the Ariel Ace and how nice it was and told her the price she said if you like it buy it. shocked me a bit.

Running Costs - BIKE mag had a feature the other month where owners were asked for opinions after the 1st few months of ownership and the main issue is insurance. Check your existing provider will cover and at what cost. Kawasaki's own insurance scheme came out the cheapest for most.
Think that's often the case for new models as they're an unknown to insurers, so nothing to base risk on. Remember the S1000RR being the same.

Remal, buy the Ariel!

Or a Bimota? Or there's one of those Vyrus things for sale I saw the other day; won't get much more different (or cool!) than that smile
booked to pop down to Ariel on the 29th to see the bike with the wife. Won't be test riding until the Spring. will give me a little to think about with the H2 at the same time

I've got one and it's like nothing else I've ever ridden. Ignore the on paper numbers, an H2 accelerates like no other litre bike on the market. I rode a 2015 s1000rr back to back with my std H2 and it felt quick obviously but peaky in comparison. Also don't read too much into the whole H2 vs H2R thing, my bike is making 240 rwhp with a full system, ecu re flash and a pcv which is pretty much identical to dyno numbers on the H2R's. It's a great road bike, comfortable but quite a big beast compared to the rsv4 and R1. It doesn't handle like a race rep but then it was never designed as one and is better for it I think. The quick shifter is excellent but the throttle takes a little getting used to as the power is so linear because of the SC, once you get used to it it's fine though. You certainly pay for it but it is a truly unique bike to ride and own. I love it.

The Exhaust looks loud, And also just out of interest where did you get the tail tidy from

I have been looking about to see what options company's make for this bike and not found one that does a tail tidy

The exhaust is a prototype system made by Austin Racing and yes its pretty loud but there are inserts which quiet it down and a normal end can with baffles which reduce the volume further. Its made from Inconel and does sound incredible. The tail tidy came from Evo Tech, really nicely engineered and nicer than the R&G alternative in my opinion.
I'e enquired about the Inconel Exhaust at Austin racing in the past. very nice indeed

Boo! The green frame looks awesome - and will be more collectable if you're thinking of residuals.

On the subject of Ace vs H2 my vote would go with the Kawasaki, the Ariel is a bit of a kit bike special without the lap times that make their Atom car special. The frame (which looks like a whippet taking a dump) is a thing of machined beauty but the rest of it very bitty. With Euro IV likely to strangle the "proper" manufacturers doing special stuff the H2 is likely to remain fairly unique.
One thing I don't like is the green, it does brake up the bike from being all the same colour which i'm not a fan of but I don't generally like greens bikes.

Now if the frame was Orange, yum

I had a play with with Ariel when I picked the Atom up it's gorgeous.
Many thanks for that. I've seen a reviews of people riding but not it ticking over. Sounds very much like my Speed triple with the Zard Cone fitted

lovely

Out of interest to find out more about what chance I would get to have a test ride if I wanted to put my money down on a H2 in the future I emailed Kawasaki Head office and the reply was pretty much this

As the H2 ninja is being built in limited numbers by the factory and as such the purchasing process for it is different to any other road bike that we have produced. the small quantities mean that the motorcycle are sold on a first come first served bases to customers who have registered an interest and paid a deposit. The effect is that the Ninja H2 within Kawasaki is already sold and we are unable to provide a demonstrator motorcycle for potential customers such as yourself

I feel I could not spend that much on a bike and know now 100% that I will feel comfy on the bike.

A shame as I love the looks of the bike, but there are plenty of other bikes out there made in even more limited numbers such as the Ace I can get a test ride on and make sure i'm 100% happy to spend my money on

Maybe that's a good thing. I've never liked Kawasaki's personally but like this. #

Maybe their thinking is a big change from the norm will bring in people like me

Sorry to bump this thread

As my blade insurance is out in 10 days time I was talking to someone at Bennetts about how much insurance would be if I changed to the H2 or Ace. they can insure me on the Ace for a reasonable amount but are unable to insure me on the H2

So my question, Owners of the H2 on here. Would you mind if I ask where you get your insurance from

cheers
Matt

Sounds odd, I added my H2 to my policy for £100. I'm with Carole Nash. It's a shame you can't get a demo ride on an H2, it would blow your mind, there's nothing else like it.
Was your bike in one of the bike mags recently. they had a articular about a Austin ecu flash and exhaust etc like yours

I would love a test ride but it seems unlikely. I have found 1 or 2 in the midlands via a few dealers who are selling. May give them a call and see if they still have them and allow a test ride

I was told via the chap that as they are a unknown bike and unsure how they will be with clams due to the spec they found it difficult to find a broker for them.
cheers on the heads up about Carole Nash

Yes, that was my bike in Fastbikes last month. I had the first H2 through my dealer in April last year so the bike was extremely new to the Insurer when i called to get it added. I think the underwriter is Equity Red Star, but i'd need to double check.
cheers again for that

As I still have my options Open I'm going friday to look at a H2. See what they are like and spend a bit of time seeing if it's for me. Plus trying to see how much the insurance will be for me

Had a sit, seems just like being on my blade so seems comfy.

I am impressed with the bike

Going to give it a little time to think and they may just got for the H2
