Hi, just picked up this today for £100, was looking pretty sorry for itself. Not sure which way to go with it yet, cafe it, bigger bore kit or just get it back running right as a standard 125.

Anyway, here it is:

Still not entirely sure why i bought it, everything needs something doing to it :s

Cheers Pete hehe

I'm in the middle of fishing out one of the exhaust studs now. Other faults include but are not limited to...

Dead battery
Both fork seals
Fuel tank leak
Back tyre done
Sprocket carrier loose
Side stand kick lug broken off

Found all that in first five minutes. Had it in garage last night but the fumes were awful so called it until i can do tank.

It's now called Stinky.

Had a few minutes between jobs this morning so started looking for the bones of the bike...

Triple clamps bolts were all different sizes and some 13s!

Also, i reckon 50% of the bolts i undid snapped.

Cheers, it's just a bit of a knockabout exercise to see what i can make it into tbh.

Think i'll paint the spokes/centres black possibly, to take the eye off the cheapie wheels a bit, but not sure yet.

Now, i need some 30/31mm clipons...

Ive whacked them right up, but i'll flatten most of the boneline out by losing front height. The forks have got a LOT of spare length that i can pull through without bottoming out.

Ive got a spare pair of aftermarket ebay specials for an rc42 brand new in the workshop. Taller, but a little too heavily rated i suspect.

Thought about clubmans, but they dont give me as much opportunity to move the angles around.

A set'll turn up, i'm in no rush.

In other news, just bought these for seven quid including post...

They're 26mm i/d but there's enough meat to take them out to 30-31 easily. Should be quite adjustable.

In other, other news, 2 exhaust studs out, 2 still soaking, one of which is broken but about 10-15mm out. Tried everything else so i'm going to have to heat them out. Need to pull the tank first as i has quite a bad fuel leak tho.

Oh, also one of the egr bolts snapped off too. Bugger.

Right, just had another hour doing a bit of exploratory digging.

Battery is newish but bone dry. I'll try to revive it.

Tank has a fuel leak near the tap somewhere but it isn't the tap itself. No visible signs of where from, but definitely leaks badly.

Front mudguard had one snapped bolt. Guard looks good, been powdercoated but has cracks round the mounting plates. Might not refit it.

I'm starting to toy with a cone filter as i've got a few lying around, but need to hide the battery somewhere. Depends what seat unit it gets i guess.

Exhausts are solid and aftermarket cans fit well and look good. Anyway, if anyone's still reading this here's some pics...

Very minor update...

I have to por15 the tank, but i'm doing a minor cleanup to see what i've got. Destickered left side and it came up reasonable, but right hand side has a sizeable dent in it and a large chip (i'll touch that in).

Top surface has bloomed badly due to filler cap leak, but i'll g3 it when i refit the tank.

Oh and it now has a name (due to the fuel fumes): "Stinky".

Tom, i heated the bolts up and hammered them flat on the ends so my puller could bite them, got them out now cheers smile

Managed to fit in a bit round working on the car today.

Got all broken exhaust studs out.
Cleaned tank up a bit, but won a learnerlegal 125 tank for 15 quid so might end up using that instead (more caff shaped).

Pulled out all the airbox and battery guts, think this is how i'll be going with it. Even took off rear plastic mudguard insert, it'll never get used in the rain anyway.

Pulled forks through a little more and took orange lenses off indis to test for colour scheme by eye. Thought i'd prefer the retro nature of the orange, but it's cleaner without so i'll be taking them off properly. Starting to see the bike emerge that i want it to be.

Oh and bolted up the engine mount bolts, for some reason they were loose. Anyway, pics...

Let's not say stuff we can't back up, eh? wink

Had a brain fart about new tank. If i can get it to fit and sit flat, i might wire wheel it back to bare metal then lacquer it as is.

My Learnerlegal tank just turned up. Bit of frame modding needed at weekend, it will be about an inch and a half further forward and half an inch higher overall but the line is spot on. Paint is pretty much perfect but decals are lacquered in, so it's probably going to end up bare metal (shame, i don't mind the colour).

The bone line is now more correct for a caff. It was fifteen quid, delivered:

They're coming up full size on mine, not sure what's happened there :s

Tell you what tho, the bike is going to be tiny when it's done. It's marginally bigger than a midi moto and it weighs sod all.

I bloody wish!

Very poorly m3 and a lot of work on so i've barely touched it.

Ordered china's finest 31mm clipons and lined the tank up a little better, as well as pulling the clocks apart. Think it's getting a small single speedo, the old stuff is hooge.

Doing it a little cheap so the fork length is unavoidable. Top yoke i may grind down.
