I am tempted by a Yamaha MT10 as the big bang motor and kit seems like a lot of bike. Also at 10.5k seems like a quite a good price.

Anyone had a go? Not even sure if these are out?

MT10
S1000R
or Tuono

Hmmnn....

Yes this is what I am thinking. Big bang growl and 10.5k

I am comparing prices and also spec...

The other contributing factor is the engine character, which the Yamaha has in spades in the big bang motor.

BMW Sport at 11.5k comes with heated grips cruise control and the fancy suspension.

Yamaha at 10.5k comes the same but no suspension from my understanding. Is the engine character a more worthwhile option then the fancy suspension?

Never ridden them so can't comment really, but I struggle with idea of trading in the electronics and suspension package on the BMW for what is basically just a pleasing soundtrack on the MT-10.

That said, like many, I like Yamaha's and not so much BMWs, that will be enough for some.
fair point but the Yamaha comes with the full electronics package also. The only thing that is lacking is the BMW's suspension. Which is a 1k difference.

However the soundtrack is just the thing... its the power delivery and how tractable the motor feels. The big bang firing order gives a nice torquey characterful feel. I have heard the BMW is a littly buzzy.

Still 1k for the suspension is a bit of bargain.

Personally I think the transformer MT10 looks better the the squinty BMW, which isn't hard. However the BMW is massive value for money.

If the MT10 had been priced at £9999 I just feel it would have been a done deal.

No sure about QS but it does have slipper clutch and heated grips with cruise control.

BMW if formidable machine without a doubt.

Looking for a Yamaha dealer South London... so I think Laguna may have one.

I am really looking forward to the test ride. Convinced my brother we should by either a pair of these or S1000R's.

Having watched the 44th review, the MCN review and Bike World review this bike looks like so much fun.

I need to go a look at one. Just finding time is the issue.

Looking forward to getting on this bike.
