Well my grand intentions of remaining on a nice low powered bike for a while longer have ended. It was a toss up between the Striple and the Mt07/09 but the Striple won me over as a package for everyday (plus that noise when you nail it!). Most of my riding is commuting but I wanted something that could do more when time allows. Having managed to get insurance resolved at a sensible level (praise be to my locked shed winning over the insurers). I've taken the controversial step of taking the 'standard' model in white as it seemed everything I needed and the stonking arrow/bodykit offer + £600 of accessories for the normal price got my attention. What accessories should I stick on it? I've got the usual crash protection in mind, a hugger for the rain then its a question of whether I need leds or the quickshifter. Even more controversially I'm considering the single light conversion at the front but that'll probably be something to ask from santa at the end of the year. Bring on next weekend...

Cheers all, the deal is £500 of accessories (genuine Triumph only) so I might as well spank it! I figure the quickshifter is the one thing I wouldn't splash out on if it was my own cash so why not, it could be fun. The rest of the bling like bar end mirrors and leds I can do in my own time...although the high comfort seat is quite tempting. A tail tidy is definitely on the list but the triumph one looks a bit lame so I'm looking elsewhere, I also fancy taking off the rear pegs to really tidy up the rear.

That was my thinking - but talking to the garage they didn't think anything was likely to turn up anytime soon that would be better then the deal that was already available. To be honest the bike is so good I didn't really care about the new model, I'm sure it will be fantastic but the existing bike is so distinctive I figured I'd go for it now, I can always trade in next year if I really have to!

Considering a Street Triple as my next bike. How is it as a daily use bike? I do a 15 mile each way commute (mainly A-road) in all weathers and I'm a bit worried that the lack of fairing will be a bit wearing when the weather is less than ideal.
Well your situation sounds similar to mine and I bought one, mind you I already ride a naked, i find it helps keep the speed sensible!

Well it's only done 100 miles but we're bonding nicely. Standard spec feels bang on for the road, beautifully quick to turn. Not yet wound it up obviously but haven't quite stuck to the suggested revs on the tank for running in either!

cheers chaps, I was looking at the evotech but they appear to be out of stock. Any other recommendations? I'm planning to take off the rear pegs at the same time smile
