Just taken the shock off my bike due to this:

Might be a stupid question but am I okay to leave the bike sat until I can source the part? Everything seems fine it's just a little disconcerting.

Cheers all. Have left it as is with wheels chocked, locked and covered now.

Shock is WP.

My sides are splitting with all these puns...

The rear end felt loose/wobbly towards the end of last week so I checked a load of things, put air in the tyres etc. Wasn't until this Monday evening it felt really dangerous and unpredictable and the crack was found under a thick layer of grime. Serves me right for not washing the bike more often or I'd have spotted it sooner I guess.

Yes it's a stupid question. What next, "Leaving a tyre sat with no wheel"? rolleyes
laugh apologies but we've all got to learn, even at the risk of looking stupid.

I'm fully shiite at a lot of this stuff so even taking the shock off (which I know is now pretty damn easy) was cause for celebration.

Update on the WP for anyone interested - they don't seem to have any parts available for this model at all, some bullst about dropping a load of back-stock in the move from Holland to Austria. So I've bought an OEM shock off eBay for peanuts while I look into either having a new bracket fabricated or having this one welded up.

I haven't approached them with that line yet but have thought about it, a brand new WP shock to say sorry because we almost killed you would be lovely biggrin. The main problem is I have no documentation for the shock at all and no idea when it was fitted by the previous owner.

My thinking is that it was over tightened and that's why it's gone ping? Or maybe it's just crap but I was under the impression WP made pretty good st.

I still have this knackered shock and no longer have a bike for it to go on, and as I'm now leaving the country I probably can't take it with me. So before I put it up on eBay for 99p does anyone on here want it for the price of postage?

I came to the conclusion that it wasn't meant to be on a Hornet as I've found no other WP shocks for sale for that model and no literature from WP saying they ever made one for it, but I may be wrong. It could be worth a fair bit if repaired I imagine but I don't have the time or interest to pursue it really.

So, any takers? laugh

This may be against selling rules on PH, but I'm gonna link to the top box I'm trying to shift too. (I may also be selling a mounting plate for it and some other bits and bobs...).

Happy to knock some off as a PH discount, or if things are bought in a bundle - saves me posting them to each corner of the country.

Top box comes with white dirt-effect PH smiley - these can't be bought!

Negative feedback! nono
If this is about the grips then I hope you checked the imgur link before you posted? Here it is for you:

Fake feedback, item new, seller changed mind & lied - proof - www.imgur.com/a/WTVBh

You can't contest negative feedback after a certain amount of time unfortunately, so there's nothing I could do as I don't use eBay regularly and couldn't respond to it officially, hence the picture.

Consider yourself removed from the PH discount offer CoolHands! laugh
