How long is to long to wait for a bike? I placed a deposit on an mv f3 800 5 weeks ago, the bike was a 2015 model with only 370 miles on the clock and needless to say a virtually brand new bike ( although not seen in the flesh), the original agreement was for the dealer to have its 600 mile service early and me pick it up the following week.

The dealer then informed me it had a slight cam chain rattle that would need a new cam chain tensioner ordered from mv rolleyes .

To cut a long story short I waited for the new adjuster but it didn't cure the rattle so engine out with an indefinite waiting time. I don't blame the dealer and now have my deposit back but it would seem I have missed the last chunk of summer frown

A fool and his money are soon departed and I have always been impatient so over the last 3 days I have scoured all the big selling sites and narrowed my search down to an 899 or an rsv4 factory.

After 2hrs of googling the rsv4 I have placed a deposit and the guy is delivering it tomorrow morning around 9am in a van ( the poor sod has 130 miles to travel ) . I have not seen the bike but am assured it is as described, being impatient I have not even seen one of these bikes in the flesh so please feel free to tell me they are one of the best bikes out there drink

I am now drinking beer hoping I don't feel to st in the morning biggrin
Kept busy today tidying up my tiny garage and there's its resting place right there.

cheers guys, no need for any more posts encase we get some negative views lol. I might have to change the tyres though seeing as autumn is now nearly on us. The bike has virtually brand new racetec rr tyres on which is a shame , I am guessing these are defiantly no recommended for damp winter days .

I managed a bit of gel time today (120 mile round trip) and getting the shiny tyres scrubbed in. Its err certainly different to anything I have ridden before, its slightly more comfy than my 848 evo .

To be honest its a pussy cat smile . The gearing is really tall and not just in 1st, most of the b roads your in 3rd gear and back to 2nd or 1st for the tight bends and big islands. If you ask for a handful of throttle below 3-4k it sounds very agricultural.

Nothing like my old gsxr 1000 k8 . I have had a play with some of the electronics and at 1st it takes a leap of faith to rely on the anti wheelie but it doesn't take long to rely on it smile.

Love it to bits, fantastic bit of kit, albeit lacking a bit of torque and it feels very tall on the seat so I need to check if its been lifted up. The manual is massive so going to have a poke around it tonight with a few beers beer Notice fag tin on seat, I have to wear my rst textile jacket to carry all my crap until I get a bum bag .

Changed the can already!!
If you were hear right now I would poor you a can lol. I was going to suggest people guess the difference between the 1st photos and the last wink but thought I would see if any one spotted it.
I prefer standard systems and it was delivered with the bike, after checking over tyre pressures and bits and bobs I popped the original can back on, all of 5 mins unlike my multidtrada .
Your post brought a smile well spotted biggrin

Make sure you try it in T mode with TC at level 1 or 2 and anti wheelie off, it's not that much of a pussycat then tongue out, completely agree about using first for tighter corners, it's such a tall gear on them.
Managed another 120 mile run today, love it, I have the anti wheelie on 1 and the TC at 6 lol. Purchased a bum bag today for all my crap, I have only just worked out the technique for lowering the side stand while on the bike biggrin .

I am going to get some adjustable levers because the clutch lever is quite far out, disappointing the bike comes with bog standard clutch and brake lever.

I also need to get some kind of tank protector for where the knees sit because if that paint dulls its going to be unsightly .
