A weekend from hell!

Went with the family to the Olympic pool yesterday for the Fun session on inflatables. 10mins into the session my wife slipped, snagged her leg and snapped it (spiral fracture of Tibia and fracture of fibia)! Spent hours in Newham hospital, 4 hrs on the road (M11), sorting kids out.

So today i went to see the wife post OP ( titanium rod in snapped leg) and thought i would go on the bike to save time, parked in staff area at the hospital, 1 hour in some scumbag tts tried to nick it and i found it laying on its side. Clutch lever snapped, engine casing, left fairing and rear panel scraped. What a bunch of low life wkers.

Couldn't relax knowing they would be back, so said my goodbyes and went back to Cambridge.

The bike smoked like a asthmatic, on start up but appears to be fine.

Looks like it will cost around £400 to put right.

Rant over and a weekend to forget!

it was in a bike park, which was undercover, with only 1 other bike.

I spoke to security, CCTV wasn't working on camera, but he said it is most likely the bike gangs that operate in the area on scooters. But not 100% sure.

Im 99% sure i put it on the stand properly, just a stter, but ho hum, ill get it fixed.

Went back today.....in the car as they wont nick a Volvo!

Defo on stand properly, if theft wasn't attempted the only other possibly IMO is that a car just caught the back wheel and rocked it off the stand.

Wife is in a bad way, never seen anything like it, she has a bruise running up her shin from either the break or where they hammered in the rod from below the knee all the way down to the ankle. Sends shivers down my spine!

The lifeguard heard it snap!

It was good to meet you too Mitzy

The wife's on the mend, but it will take time.

Bike is also on the mend, LH middle fairing £225, LH rear unit £120, clutch lever £20, so not that bad and may get a good price for the scratched originals if i sell on ebay.
