Nobody knows if he did or he didn't. He first proposed it though. Best I can come up with is that he nearly did it in 1977 according to his Son Gary. Leaves Dougie as the "first"

I saw the Bike before the attempt at Vertigo UK. It looks surprisingly standard. Given the Tank on the Vertigo is only 2.7 Litres that "hump" for the fuel is really needed. My son has the standard Combat Camo and it's a very good bike.
