I'm itching to get out on the bike in general. I usually manage the odd run this time of year but the weather and state of the roads have prevented me so far this year. I'm looking forward to one of my regular evening routes round the borders. Biggar,Broughton,Moffat,St Marys Loch, Innerleithen,Peebles and home dry roads, warmish and light traffic. KTM if I'm feeling frisky, Indian for a more relaxed run. I can't wait
Might see you at St Marys this year, I'm quite often up Peebles/Moffat way.Tall_Paul said:
Yeah, it's a gen2 though (last of the V-twins), not a v4.
Got a 3700 mile, 15 day Alps tripped planned in late August on it, so need to get some miles on it over summer to get used to the bike, only managed 1000 miles since I bought it in September.
Ah, thought yours was the V4, I'm sure someone on here said they were looking for one. Hope you have a great time on your Alps trip.Got a 3700 mile, 15 day Alps tripped planned in late August on it, so need to get some miles on it over summer to get used to the bike, only managed 1000 miles since I bought it in September.

Snowing here today. The bike is staying firmly locked away.
Plans once the weather breaks are to sell the Pan Euro, MOT the R1100S and, after 6 or so years, get the Duke 750SS back on the road.
We had snow and hailstones on Friday, it's nice to see the days starting to get a bit longer, another 4 or 5 weekends for me before I'm out I reckon.Plans once the weather breaks are to sell the Pan Euro, MOT the R1100S and, after 6 or so years, get the Duke 750SS back on the road.

I'm just looking forward to warmer weather so I can fiddle arse around on the driveway, I love a day to myself stripping all the fairings off, changing the oil and just spannering with cup of tea and the radio on.
Ah, warmth on your back tinkering out side on warm summer evenings. Been a while since I've seen tennis balls on sticky out bits of paddock stands.patchb said:
I'm just looking forward to being able to ride again. I snapped my right collarbone in half on 9th January, I took my thundercat to the bank on Thursday (about 1.5 miles) rather than the car and it felt OK so I'll probably take it on the 25 mile commute on Monday.
Also looking forward to getting my tuono back out, I've barely looked at the thing since October but it'll probably get it's first run of the year in march.
Breaking bones is never good but at least you broke it during the winter. Also looking forward to getting my tuono back out, I've barely looked at the thing since October but it'll probably get it's first run of the year in march.

This winter has been good enough to get the bike out a good bit over in the dark lands of N.Ireland tbh. I am more looking forward to a the 1st trip of the year I am planning around scotland or wales weather depending last weekend of march/1st weekend of april for 3-4 nights.
luck of the draw there. We had snow/hail and salted roads right up until the end of April last year. Years gone by the sun has been cracking the flags mid March.Walter Sobchak said:
Unfortunately I've got some expensive stuff coming up on my bike in the spring- it's just turned 12k so valve clearance service (although think it was done previously at about 8k want peace of mind) needs a new front tyre, it's already got a brand new rear on it, and got insurance renewal and MOT at beginning of April too.
That's another bad thing about this time of year, all the stuff I have needs insuring and taxing.RemaL said:
I've been keeping myself busy in the garage the past few months taking my kit car apart. new Rad, coolant hose's. Better header tank. And putting in a new multi dash instead of the analog gauges. Still not as fun as being out on the kit car or bike.
I'm hoping we will get a dry day next month to get out on the bike. She is going for a rempap. I have a few things to fit, crash bungs and new exhaust in the next few weeks.
I hate the cold weather. No Moto GP, BSB, WSB and F1. but not long now.
Hope we have a good summer as this winter has been colder than the last few. so fingers crossed.

Spring my arse, we had an inch of snow this morning
Bah, that's bad Dave, we had -3 overnight and it's barely got over 2 degrees today, it'll not be long before we're all siting on the wall at devils bridge wondering who's turn it is for the tea/coffee.
