I've decided that I have no excuse for not getting round to this in the coming Summer. I'm in my mid 30s so will be going for the full licence.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a good instructor/school in the Spilsby/Boston/Louth area of Lincolnshire please?

Closest is: http://www.motorcycletraining101.com/ (East Kirkby)
These guys are in Louth: http://www.lmtmotorcycles.co.uk/training.html

If anyone has and recommendations on who to use or who to avoid I would be very grateful. Obviously not limited to the above two, just wanted to mention those in case anyone here has used them.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks very much guys. It sounds like both have the potential to be a good option then, that's nice to hear.

Dropped in to the local bike shop today who also recommended MC101 at East Kirkby.

Well that was fun!

Very happy with how today went and will be going back for the next step as soon as I can. Lee suggested I just get straight on with the Mod1. Just need to get the theory test out of the way (already booked but more of a wait than I was hoping for).

Pleased it went well! OSM-PSL.OSM-PSL.OSM-PSL. And don't forget 'Gas on!!' Or slow riding.....

Unless he has already asked - can guarantee he will ask you how fast can you take a corner? Good one to ponder!
I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about now. He didn't ask the 'how fast' question but can't really see how I can answer that without crashing.

Theory/Hazard perception sorted so back to Lee to get the big bike bits done whenever he can fit me in.

'Mod 2' passed (did Mod 1 a few days ago). I would be very happy to recommend Lee (MC101) to anyone, a genuinely nice guy who makes learning to ride very easy.

The whole thing has been a lot of fun from CBT to DAS. The only exception to this was the Mod 2 test. I convinced myself that I'd made a dangerous error very early on and so spent 90% of the test convinced that I'd failed. Very glad I kept my head (mostly) screwed on as it would have been very easy to fail by dwelling on the early error (which wasn't even a minor).

Now for my favourite part...new toy time! :-)
