Well the Tracer was sold around a month ago and I was planning on being bike free for a while. That didn't last long hehe

Have just bought a 2010 Ducati 848 to replace it. It has highish mileage and a few little bits to sort but it looks great, has been well looked after and was very good value so hopefully the gamble pays off. I was actually on the look out for a 749 but this came up in the same price range and is utterly gorgeous so couldn't help myself. This will be my 4th Ducati.

Should be picking it up tomorrow!

Thanks guys, yes rim tape, screen and grips are all on the list to replace hehe

It has just over 30k on it but a good service history and a few marks around the body, but overall is very nice (much better than the 10k mile 749 i viewed on friday). For £4k couldnt pass it up!

Once ive given it a good clean i will get sone better pics

Crummy rim tape and pillion footpegs removed. Also have a new exhaust heat shield on order to replaced the current damaged one.

Very. Nice mister.

Does the clutch make a noise like a Salvation Army Captin banging a tambourine?
848 has a wet clutch so no rattle unfortunately wink

Will make a change from the 748 where everyone had to point out 'your bike sounds broken' when stopping for petrol hehe

Another little update though, I cracked on with the polish last night, got the new exhaust guard on and have just ordered a rear seat cowl and clear double bubble screen.

Also booked in on 5th April at FTR suspension for a full check / setup and weight matched rear spring if required.

Seat cowl turned up cloud9

Took it out for a half hour blast as well before it got too dark. Rides and handles much better on standard suspension settings and am starting to get used to it. Definitely strange being on a sports bike again after 4 years on uprights though hehe

Well i am at FTR at the moment and unfortunately the rear shock is way way too hard (as i suspected) and the preload adjusters are totally seized, so probably new shock time.

Weighing up whether to get another showa from ebay or put an ohlins on it scratchchin

It seems crazy spending loads of money on a high mileage cat D but i could always take it off again when i come to sell it . . .
