Hypothetically you want something in the garage to, not lose much money, look pretty, and start when you decide to take something out once a year.

Must be more special than a lava red r1.

Or buy another lava red r1?

If you're sentimentally attached to Lava red R1s (as I am), nothing else is going to be a Lava red R1 other than another Lava red R1.

Therefore I say get the R1 and the Ducati, just so the second bike is different enough to make it worth having two.
I don't think another lava red r1 will be my old lava red r1. And i'd know as I bought that twice.

So one or the other.

In your described circumstances I'd discount both and go RSV4.

However the S1000 makes more sense.
For 8 grand?

Turns out yes but I am 6"4 and it looks like I could fit one in my pocket.

I can't see Scott landing a big bill based on 250 miles per annum. He could reduce that figure even further by organising a load of Southern ride outs that he never turns up for
I don't recall organising one this year?

But, that is a very good plan!

You chosen one yet Scott ?
A shame to let this fizzle out here ....
Ducati appears to be off the cards but the prices of the s1000rr are a lot stronger than they were over winter it seems hehe

I have a date with a suzuki garage saturday morning as a left field choice.

There are no bad sports bikes out there mate , not of the current crop, mainstream offerings, and you're buying a bike , not buying into a lifestyle because of one label or another , as some would contend .
Get one bought pronto .
I think we both know all outweigh my abilities hehe

Hence the must look pretty and not depreciate like a stone.

Scott, have you considered having just a full sized cardboard cut out of a motorcycle in your storage space?

It's probably the most cost effective way to meet your motorcycling needs.
hehe

Thats a damn good idea to be fair.

But I find the petrol makes it soggy.
