Grim up Norf Viper Meet

Hi guys,

There have been a few new owners up here and a few that have been in hiding. So I'm hoping to arrange a meet for everyone with any venom. I wasn't able to attend Luton as I was working, and rather wait till next year to meet everyone I thought let's get one organised for up'ere! So...

All VOA members welcome, and any viper enthusiast!

Date: (provisionally) Sunday 20th September
Time: 12/1pm (Time enough for people to drive up)
Location: Black Swan, Hollins Green, Warrington, WA3 6LA


I've picked this pub as it's in a nice area, big car park and I know the Landlord.


The pub has accommodation, very nice accommodation in fact but it's up to the owners if they comfy leaving their vipers outside overnight. It's a nice area and it should be fine but I don't want to be responsible! So that's up to them. A plan would be, if we finish food around 3pm, that would give us enough time to go for a drive around Manchester or Cheshire, and if its a nice day, maybe venture into Manchester Centre and give the locals something to look at. Then stop at a pub for a final drink? If there's parking...


If we can get a group of us, Im sure the land lord will give us a discount. Anyone with a viper or dodge variable invited.

Thanks for the kind words Dave! I'm trying my best! After looking at the event dates for September, there is nothing planned which is why I picked september, also the fact that we are still on british summer time days so it stays brighter for longer. AND...It's one of only a few sundays Im free from gigging!

But it would be good to get a group of us together to show that we exist for a start! Not to mention, I do know a few other dodge variant owners up here. Up here meaning north of Birmingham! :P

It's months off just yet but Im just putting the info there for anyone who wants a day out. And it's official now as it's on the VOA site!!

All confirmed with the landlord. We will have the special conservatory area to eat in which overlooks the car park and seating terrace outside.

Haha trust me it's fully operational. Just like the Death Star Was. The picture on google earth is 5 years old. The pub is now a very cosy place to eat, lots of money was spent on it inside and out. I was there last night gigging actually!!

Makser...that's EXACTLY what I'm talking about. I had a pre idea to do a parade through Manchester city centre. I know the routes very well...and then a nice burn through Cheshire somewhere???

But first stop is the Black Swan. Details on first page!

Dave has confirmed too so that's at least 5 vipers in attendance. Maybe six if mak brings two haha. I've told a few photographists about the meet so it could have a few people attending. Just planning a nice drive route for after the food...

Planned driving route after food will look something like this:

Length: 40mls
Areas covered: Hollins Green, Dunham Massey, Knutsford, Chelford, Alderley Edge, Didsbury, Rusholme (AKA curry mile), Manchester City Centre, Deansgate, Trafford Park and finally Krispy Kreme!

There will be plenty of nice roads on this route, but there will be scattered speed cameras so please drive with caution,...not very many though! The route will take us south into the heart of Cheshire on A roads, then head east towards Alderley Edge, then back North via the A34...you can have fun on this road... to the city centre, passing a few tourist spots on the way. Not to mention plenty of oogling eyes in the city! Then, to cap the day off, and to recharge, one last stop at Krispy Kreme, Trafford Park. Again, plenty of photo ops when we stop here.

I'll print out the exact road route nearer the time and hand out on the day. Or you can just follow me, I'm quite a safe driver so you won't lose me!

Further update:

Due to technical difficulties (see steering problem thread) my viper will not be able to attend at the moment and I am gutted beyond belief. HOWEVER...the meet will still go ahead! Except the drive afterwards will be up to you guys.

Right through gentle persuasion from fellow members I am taking my viper. All is well in the world. Steering will be fixed after the meet!
