Alarm/Door lock problem - HELP!

OK PH super-sleuths, hope someone can help with this one!

[stoopid pillock] rushed to the station to catch a train yesterday, and left lights on all day... D'Oh[/stoopid pillock]

So obviously dead as a dodo when I returned. Broke in via the 'above' method - damned if I could find the other method (would really appreciate an email to explain this one to me!). Charged her back up. Door locks and alarm no longer function, with LED continuing to flash. No siren, but alarm still in 'upset' mode. Thankfully contact immobiliser works, but cannot reset alarm.

I thought maybe conincidentally the remote battery had gone, but spare won't activate either.

Do I need some kind of reset procedure (can't find anything in manual). Suppose disconnecting battery is next, but less painful method prefered.

Can anyone help please??

I was hoping to avoid crawling down 'the pit', but will give it a go.

I would have thought the battery flattening itself would have been the same thing, but assume reconnecting to instant 12v instead of trickle charge is what actually resets it?....hopefully.

If not, I'll be back tomorrow to pick some more brains!

Thanks chaps, all fixed now.
Crawled into the ridiculously cramped footwell and disconnected the earth wire (so not to short out live with spanner and very large blue spark!) I only left it about 15 minutes, and reset was fine. Don't know how long power should be off, but certainly doesn't need the hour.

Major tip for all those as dim as me :
When leaving battery disconnected for a few minutes and popping back into the house for a quick brew - remember to leave the door open - spookily enough, electrically operated locks don't seem to work when the battery is disconnected and you will have to break in again... D'Oh
