Evening gents ( and any lady tiv drivers out there)
Well after an absence of 17 years (and 2 rug rats ) I finally have a TVR back in my life! 😀
I have just purchased a gorgeous imperial blue 400 on a '99 v plate from those lovely gentlemen at Gasoline Junkie.
I had my heart set on a 450 but after reading all the advice on the forums went with condition, condition, condition and didn't let my heart rule my head!
It's had all the right work carried out, including outriggers and is totally original.
Trouble is with all the great ideas and mods on here I'm already looking at parting with my cash for upgrades 😍.
Based in the Bristol area so would love to catch up with a few local Tiv's.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.
Chilliman - that probably is a new record for the forums :-). Had my first chim back in '95 (which is now up for sale again with sovereign cars) when Pistonheads wasn't around. Would probably have saved me a lot of grief if it had been!
Couldn't wait to get that v8 burble back and now sit in the garage just listening to the soundtrack! Pretty sad eh? :-)
Mod wise just thinking about cosmetics at the mo and have been following the Lupo light thread with interest, really like the mk3 conversion and with the Lupo lights think it would look really smart IMHO. I am torn though between keeping the car totally original at factory spec, as it is now and doing the upgrades.
Also contemplating the SP12's / pro race 1.2's and keeping the original Imola's.

Lol. Btw how can I add in the emoticons in the text - tried it from my mobile device but just comes up with lots of chaos. That does look the nuts chilliman, quite subtle and retains originality of sort. Think it really suits the facelift model.
Is it too late for a first class letter to Santa? :-)
Hi Paul,
I'm in Bradley Stoke so not far from the Willy Wicket where you guys meet up. Will join the car club in the new year and look to join the fun on some of your runs out.
I'll probably get lambasted on the chim forum for saying it but your Griff looks the dogs danglies! :-)
Peter, have to say the conversion does look good and think that's the way I'll go, probably with an HID upgrade as well.
Introduce the mrs to TVR ownership gently before getting down to the nitty gritty :-)
Think I might have enough capital in the house for a re-mortgage! He he.
Btw, the colour is Imperial blue which I think was a Toyota colour in the late nineties.
Cheers
Ian.

Hi Gary,
Yes, the very same and still knocking around with the same missus, Tracy!
How the devil are you? Are you still local to the area?
Packed in the footie a few moons ago now but still drinking!
Nice V8s on your profile and now see you're the proud owner of a 500 Chim. Would be good to get together for a blast sometime.
Cheers

Hi Bob,
Amazing, literally round the corner from you in Ellan Hay road and do drink in the Baileys on occasion.
Also see you're in aerospace as well. Small world as they say.
Definitely hook up soon, can't believe how many Tiv drivers are local.
Lovely looking Griff by way, is that Crimson Starmist?

Thanks Ian - have you seen my Griff or just my profile pick? - Wheels are now Gold SP12s'/TD's which seem to go well with the black .....
Look forward to cathcing up in 2014 !

Hi Paul, Just looked up the profile pic but with those exhausts acting like flame throwers think I'd best keep my distance behind you Look forward to cathcing up in 2014 !
Regards, Paul.
Also looked up the Bristol car club gallery for local Tiv's, some lovely looking cars on the run outs. Particularly like the idea of joining the dragon run in 2014.
Enjoy the festivities and let's wish for lots of sunny days.

Imperial Blue was a ford colour used for the Escort Cosworth. Just beware when getting any paintwork done that there are at least 3 blues called 'imperial blue' (according to the paintshop I used a while back) so make sure you get the right one if having any paintwork done. I had a wing mirror in the wrong one which looked almost identical but not quite....

Thanks for the heads up on the colour issue, will definitely check out the paint codes before having any work done. Notice you've had the lights upgraded to the faired in style, have to say it looks it good. Do you mind me asking where you had it done please?
Totally agree the blue ones are the fastest, think its the colour matched stitching on the seats that gives them extra oomph!,
Hi Nige,
Rosso Red eh......mmmm love that colour.
You'll be amazed how many local Tiv's there are. If you haven't already get yourself over to the
TVRCC Bristol Facebook page to catch up on all the local events.
We recently had an awesome run over to the Brecons at 6am on a Sunday morning, 150 miles and back for breakfast.
Are you heading up to the Neil Garner open day on 27th sept?
Should be a few of us heading up.
