So my PnJ has been at Surface and Design for over 3 weeks now. They inspected teh car and sent an estimation for repairs to Equity.
I have had to make numerous calls to all parties involved to get things moving regarding approving the claim in order for the guys at S&D to commence their good work.
Then i received a text yesterday from Northern Assessors wanting to arrange to view the car!
Is this how these 'professional' people work?
Not happy. This farce has ruined any chances of winning this years NSCC as i will be missing at least the first race meeting at York at Easter and no doubt the following meeting a fortnight later.

I took the car to Blackpool at my own expense to save time hoping to get the car back by Easter.
Looks like i wasted my time.
The estimate for the insurers is over £5k. I had a guesstimated value of £10k on the car but now i realize that was low considering the amount of work and renovation the car has had recently. Also a lot of upgrades.
The engineer is viewing the car today so fingers crossed that there are no further complications.
I suppose if it is written off i can get the car back and turn it into a proper drag slag and pay off some debts

So the procedure is that Equity employ Northern Assessors to send an engineer to inspect the car which they did on Friday. I spoke to Equity and they say they are happy with the claim to go ahead but... the engineer has submitted the report to 'WNS' who have just promised me i will get an answer to whats going to happen this afternoon.
I guess WNS are a subsiduary that way up the reports and estimates then make the ultimate decision.

That was the procedure I went through Derek but S&D and I didn't wait for NA to actually get their finger out. Once S&D got the OK from Equity they went ahead iirc. I got the OK from NA about a week or so after the work had already started.

Ive been in contact with David. He had the unofficial nod yesterday. There is no major rush for me now as its too late for me as far as racing in the NSCC is concerned. Now i just want the car doing right and back in time for the UK power tour. Give David a call.
