So, after requiring just a sidelight bulb for her MOT, my Chim 400 is back on the road. I celebrated with a wang around the country lanes in the late afternoon sun and a trip to the pub to show off.

I had an advisory on light chassis corrosion. What's the best thing to do here? Body off? Body lift? Just up on ramps and stands? POR15 or Waxoyl? They said it's just light corrosion around some of the joints, and the outriggers seem fine. It did have a full chassis repaint before I bought it, about 5 or 6 years ago, but I don't keep it garaged, just covered on a grass driveway. I guess the moisture from the ground has got underneath.

My dashboard DESPERATELY needs replacing. Thinking of going for a carbon effect vinyl wrap as it's cheap, looks good and less hassle. I need to replace the dash panels as the mounting bracket has come off (and got lost) on the radio panel.

She's not running smoothly, despite new dizzy cap, plugs, leads and lead extenders. Has a real hesitation and almost misfire going from idle.

She's also running too cool I think.
