Otter Switch Location
Discussion
A friend had an overheating problem at the weekend when his otter switch packed up and the fans wouldn't cut in. This occured in traffic after an 80 mile blast up to Siverstone. Long story short, engine cooled, switch was bypassed, fans ran constantly, problem solved. This was on a T reg Chimaera.
Note to self; carry a spare fuse or patch lead to 'jump' the live and earth wires in the event that I should suffer the same fate. So I looked for my otter switch last night and couldn't find it. The T-reg had it in the radiator, near the bottom on the passenger side, rear facing. My 98 car (full face lift, etc.) has nothing in this location. Where is it??? Has someone stolen it?
I'm sure an exhaustive search would turn it up but last night the engine was hot, the roof was off and it started raining. Looking for an elusive otter switch slipped down the list of priorities...
