Quick update all new suspension, wishbones ball joints fitted nearly ready to go to Fiberon big thanks to fellow tivvers especially Pete for helping me get this far
TVRJS kindly sent me a video that had been taken by an anomalous car in front, funny what people do in their cars and what they do with recorded videos, maybe worth considering all of our actions when these sorts of things are about
Anyway I have looked time and time again, considered my actions and wondered what the hell happened, I am well experienced with Tivvy but just shows you can never be complacent
A friend today was told by an HGV driver that this area (A5 near Dirf Rugby) is a regular point for lorries to brim their tanks with fuel so maybe it was a patch of diesel about
I am happy to share this with you guys ( you tube Death of a tvr) its quite impressive but I walked away and its not the death of Tivvy she lives and will see another day soon

In answer to "failing a breath test" I have a feeling the guy who took the video may have associations with the boys in blue, not that I am bothered or interested.
However yes I was tested and was only slightly over the limit however I have been exonerated as not over the limit and no further charges/investigations are pending.
The accident had nothing to do with the above, it was merely "one of those things" and looking at some of the Tivs at our favourite breakers has happened to plenty of others, mine will be resurrected
Its interesting to see other peoples assumptions I'm glad I don't!!!

Also very happy to hear you are rebuilding your TVR, aside from the obvious she looks in really good condition.
Wow that video is an eye opener, fair play to you for sharing it. It really doesn't look like you did a lot wrong there. I don't normally think twice about planting the throttle on a straight dual carriage way, just goes to show these cars can catch even the most experienced tivvers.
Chimmy was a cracker perfect original and looked after underneath, sharp quick engine, standard 4.5 but a flyer, luckily there was no chassis damage, a bit of time and money and she will be better than newWow that video is an eye opener, fair play to you for sharing it. Hi Richard, I'm glad to see things going so well with the rebuild and you so positive. I know from experience how these cars can bite in certain circumstances and without warning. Diesel is my bet in either case.
Out of interest, if you don't mind me asking, how much did it take to get your alcohol reading? I like a pint or three sometimes when I'm out and although I feel fine and capable, I haven't a clue where it puts me legally. A love of cars and fine ale are uneasy bedfellows I know. I don't want to be opening a can of worms on this old one. PM me if you wish instead.
I like a drop but am sensible with it, on this occasion I had had 2 reasonable sized glasses of wine with food probably about and hour before being tested, I blew 43 in the car, was tested by blood 3 hours later and the report came back as below and clearOut of interest, if you don't mind me asking, how much did it take to get your alcohol reading? I suspect if you like a reasonable ale, as I do you are probably a tad on the close side at 3, a lot will depend on your tolerance, body mass food etc

Where's the 'like' button when you need it?
Well done Richard. Hve Fibreon said how long they expect to have Chimmy?
Good guy there, when I booked it in he reckoned 2 weeks to make a complete new front, I offered a deposit to confirm my intentions and to cover his initial time which he declined Well done Richard. Hve Fibreon said how long they expect to have Chimmy?
He opened especially today to take my car in, the front was all made ready, he wants the car for a couple of weeks and will be repairing/refitting bonnet, I again offered a part payment to cover works to date but he declined
So what more can you say, sole trader doing what he says on the tin, works look good on the new front, new mk3 lights coming as well

Right, my P+J was Paris Blue, however I must confess it was not my favourite colour, following her major surgery she is going to require painting so its time for radical change
Have a scheme in mind which I reckon is going to look stunning, simple but very effective not a crass combination but a bit different, it will be in keeping with Chimmys classic lines but is going to stand out
Its a little way off yet as I want to prep all the under bonnet area when she comes back and then refit engine and box prior to painting, however watch this space!!! I'm quite excited
