Daz is probably the guy to answer this.

What size K&N do i need to order?
Also considering ordering 2 and doing the twin filter mod similar to Daz's.
Where and what bits of tubing did you buy Daz?

Do you a filter at all on the strip
I think its probably best to run without one as i keep blowing them to bits anyway but knowing my luck i would be following a car with sticky slicks and would hoover up a load of stones from the return road.

Derek, I'll look for that but I have the F piece that Daz has and won't be using it as my nose hasn't the room!
Cheers Peter.
I need to have at least one filter by Friday.
Is the inlet 3"?

Here you go Derek.

F piece and 2 x Pipercross air filters.

Before you say that K&N are better, that's debatable!

You selling that Peter. Can you wack it in the post tomorrow and let me know what I owe you

Thanks to Peter the F pipe and twin Pipercross are in the post.
Will be fitted Saturday, mapping checked and tweaked at full throttle then off to York to run a 12.3 NA and stretch the Chimaera NA record further from Daz's grasp evil

Also going to be entering the annual 'Street Racer' competition.
£1000 winner takes all. Wish me luck.... gonna need buckets of it.

y bro-in-law won that in 90 with his Ford Pop (well Anglia actually) biggrin
I came runner up in 2009.
But since they put the prize money in the mix some quick cars are making the journey.
I got knocked out in the second round last year by a very unassuming mk3 escort!
A monstrous scooby took the win running an 8. Very debateable if the car could be considered true 'road'
Had over 1000bhp ffs.

Heres my losing run

ove the way your Chim hooks up some very rapid shifts there Derek bow I have seen that Escort and I think that's not a fair pairing IMO
Warmed Mickey Thompsons are the secret to the grip. Also setting the shocks for weight transfer.
As for the gearchanges, they get faster depending on the opposition it seems. I always run my best times against faster cars.
The draws were fair based on qualification times and a set ladder. Was just unlucky to get Wenny so soon.
He got to the final and was easily beat by the scooby. Ive seen him whinging on about whats the point of coming back if he cant win. I love the car but dont care for the guys attitude. I will race anything on the strip. Only takes a red light, missed gearchange, engine misfire etc and the win can be yours against much faster cars. Ive won a few significant races that way. Consistancy and reliability play as big a part as outright grip and horsepower. All great fun whatever happens.

It's RWYB on Sunday and Monday. Turn up early stay till late and get 20 runs in. Also due to Yorks 2 pit system you get to watch a load of racing too.

My car at terminals at 111mph NA over the 1/4.
If i get to 112+ then i have some more power. Lets see what happens this Sunday/Monday

Yes Daz its this weekend at York. Be good to see you there. Weather report looks iffy but York isnt like the other tracks and gets cars back out quickly after a shower. I will be there camping from Saturday night.

I need more practice ,I get up to 116mph at the end .Just can`t get the first bit right.

You certainly have at least 20bhp more than me Daz.
Its your tyres letting you down. Get a pair of Mickey Thompson Street ETs on a spare pair of wheels and i think you could maybe join the exclusive 11 club.
Maybe i will lend you mine for a run wink
