Hi,

I have an issue with the blowers. I noticed that one of the wires (Yellow) going into the dash switch was burnt out so I replaced the connector. Its not made any difference though..

I presume I am best to put a meter across the connections and check that I have voltage - any other pointers?

Thanks for all the pointers.

Found the box that was suggested. All looks OK. Terminals are clean.

I have 12v on the green wires and when I short with one of the other terminals nothing happens. I would expect that shorting would bring them on. 3 different points will different resistance for speeds?

Any idea where I go next?

Well, with the damp weather I have been forced to stop putting off sorting this. Yesterday, I did as suggested. I checked out the black box - all good. Noticed that when 'switched on' that the wires to the switch heat up - resistance somewhere.

I then connected the battery direct to the plug in the footwell as suggested and I just get a slight knocking noise. I presume that the fan has siezed.

I couldn't work out where the hell the fan is. Descriptions from the bible suggest that there should be an inspection hatch in front of the passenger wheel? I couldn't find it. Can anyone provide an X marks the spot photo?

It also says that access to it is a complete bh... I presume I am not going to be able to simply give it a quick shot of WD40 and spin it by hand?

Hi Brett,

I tried the same but I only got a click... Think I need to get to the fan...

I tapped the live wire off it for about 3 or 4 minutes....

I obviously identified the earth but perhaps I should have tried an alternative live...will give that another go tomorrow. I presume that the 3 live feeds equate to the speed settings

Hi Brett,

I cannot find where the fan is to try squirting oil in. Can you tell me where it is accessible?

Cheers

Aidan

Brilliant!

Makes perfect sense now....

Just a thought....if mine is jammed, whats the chances of being able to give it a nudge using a coat hanger down the vent?
