I now have the HiSpec four pots with 283mm grooved discs . They seem to work well ,can`t test them until the pads have worn in

I was over cautious and could of got away with the 300mm discs under 16" wheels .

The pictures are behind 17" wheels but since then the 16" road set has been fitted. They look a`lot more snug behind the 16" wheels .

Look good ....but now you will always think "should have gone bigger "every time you look at them

I predict 2 weeks before a new thread with new discs fitted.
Larger discs are for aesthetics ,I don`t think you will notice the difference between 283 and 300mm discs .

Thanks Peter ,I do have very nice nuts laugh They were advertised on classifieds and while back .

About as wrong as you can be but anyways ....
Yes you are correct but the four pot 283`s are more than adequate for any track day and spirited driving

Its a light weight car !

You're right Daz. These are the kit from Hans aren't they? I'm planning on this setup as part of my winter rebuild. Which pad did you go for? I'm thinking Mintex 1144 as they work from cold & only need to work at high temps for 2-3 minutes.
I have the Yellow stuff pads ,they do not work as well until slightly warmed up .You have to apply slightly more pressure but you still stop ok .

Maybe the red stuff would be a better option .

Just measured the gap with the 16" wheels fitted ,I have 20mm spare so if everything went well i would have 3mm spare for the 300mm discs.

Just been out for a drive ,apart from the patchy light pattern which was disappointing the car drove very well .

I took Jools advice and fitted decent quality 5mm spacers ,the car does not pull to the left ,that has been a problem since ownership .
