Hello guys, could you help and outline from start to finish regarding the fuel system? I think this is stopping my chimaera from starting and running.

It had a fresh rebuild and not having any luck getting the girl to run, actually it did run when John was down but got progressively worse, started on all 8 and those numbers diminished pretty quick. Used easy start to fire her up but now, nothing...any ideas or any enlightened tvr monks had same problem before?

Fuel pump is priming! Fuel comes out of the hose going into the manifold! - It did run real nice, but not for long at all...I do not have a rover guage and my maf sensor was blown out by an explosion using easy start....Timing is SPOT ON biggrin - Leads are on correct as well!

Yeah i checked and swapped them over, did not start but good thinking! So I swapped them over and John from Brundall was sure we had them right anyway...funny thing is, before we took everything apart the car did run and started everytime!! Im hoping the wiring is fine because we had to extend the stepper motor wiring because it was caught on something :/

those are different to my side repeaters...I have orange ones - it is a 93 model, and the plug inside does not disconnect, the wires go straight into it and i have this gunk stuff covering it all up :/ any other ways?

Phazed I think it has something to do with the timing...my boss said you cant time the distributor up without the engine started? John timed it up with a timing light as we were turning it over, i think this may have something to do with it...can you enlighten me any further?

I've had the whole engine out of the car for a performance rebuild!

The car has not started on it own, and wont start even with easy start now (dont want to wash the bores to much)

Yes I put the dizzy back in but completely forgot to time it up i just stuck it in (i am only 23) and still a newbie with mechanics really even though it is my job.

But John said he had it timed up and used the timing light to do so, I am stuck for words really

Okay update, first of all, compression. Did a check and all were above 140 without any oil added as I didnt have any to put it....I put a bulb into the injector plugs and ALL of them were firing.

I checked my spark - as I have the wrong plugs, i have b7rcs the resistor version, with resistor plug caps and resistor leads, it has a very weak spark coming out of them, the coil produces an immense flash of light so thats okay.

any theories?

So when it is on its compression stroke, turning the crank will then inturn turn the rotor arm to no. 1? - Or should i just turn it untill it is at number 1 and see where the piston is with a screwdriver?

It was the timing, I put my finger over cylinder 1. felt the air pushing out, as the air stopped i turned the crank a tiny bit back the other way, i then removed the distributor and turned the rotor arm so it faced point no.1 on the cap...put it all together and boom, started instantly! I blew the mass air flow sensor out a lil while ago trying it with easy start so it runs a little rich ( fair bit of smoke from the exhaust ) - but otherwise, runs on all 8...doesn't die, now i just need to fix a few water leaks hahaha and bleed the clutch and put the rear anti roll bar on properly and then i have a proper car!!
