Although I put a new battery in last summer, unless my battery is pretty much fully charged the car won't start and even then it tends to do so as I release the ignition key.

I can spin the engine for ages - the battery is in good condition - but the battery warning light says half on. It's typically when I disengage the starter motor that the engine will catch.

I'm happy the battery is OK and the battery terminals are clean. Battery voltage without load is fine, its just low on load.

Next I'm going to check the connections to the starter motor, 100A fuse and earthing points.

Anything else I should look out for?
