Non Starter Fuel pump not priming,is it this in my photo

Went to start the car last night but wasn't getting the fuel pump prime whirl noise. The car was used the day before and I did notice that it was a bit hesitant,hard to explain but it sort of made a bubble noise then it kicked in to prime,stopped and primed again and started and drove no issue.

Last night Nothing... The alarm is working and have all power. This morning tried again and at first it primed which caught me by surprise so I didn't try to start it. Turned the key to off then tried again and no prime again.

I then looked in the passenger foot well and gave the enclosed picture white thingy a flick and a squeeze and it primed and started.



I tried multiple times and all good,prime every time and started every time. I then went back to the garage to take this picture and after moving this white plastic thing I've got no prime again. I flicked and moved it around again and it primed again and started,I then tucked it back up and no prime again.

I have read previous threads talking of Fuse and fuel relays and to my limited knowledge this is not the relay,I thought relays were square. As you might of gathered i'm not of the tinkering or knowledgeable kind when it comes to things like this,i don't even know what this white thing is called. It appears that this is the culprit so please can someone advise what it's called and how I go about replacing.

RedGriff... Yeah i was pretty sure it wasn't the relays and further prodding I can see the two relays,one going into a blue casing and one into black.

N7gtx.... Tried as you said by pulling apart the Block Connector(Thank you for naming it) and spraying and had no joy.

I then pulled apart the two relays and squirted WD in the connectors pushed back on and "hey presto" prime and started,Tried multiple times and worked every time.

Now in my bull at a gate frame of mind I'm not 100% that when pulling off the relays from black and blue that they went back on in the same order.

I've looked at them and they are both marked with exactly the same codes... So does it matter? They Also both have a date stamp of 2009. So to be safe I think ordering two new ones wouldn't be a bad idea.

So if I can ask your advice on does it matter which relay goes into the black or blue outer casing..

And could that Block connector stop the fuel pump priming? Or was it just coincidence that when I flicked and wiggled it that it worked?

Thanks Colin for confirming.

Have been back and forth over to the car since posting about spraying the WD in and has worked every time.

Just had a look on Racetech and their fuel relay is silver,my two relays are white.My limited knowledge is that the relay going into the blue casing is the fuel relay.. But what is the other one.

The picture enclosed is from an old query so please ignore what i'm holding... But my relays are white plastic.

So really i don't need to replace the ECU one then.. If I order the attached photo I enclosed from Racetech silver red stripe(Although it might now be brown) Part No. TVR M0124 am I doing things right?

Just to confirm it's defiantly the fuel relay.. Just went over to the car and no priming again,disconnected the fuel relay(Blue one) gave it a wipe plugged back in and it primed and started.
