I have finally got a Chimaera after 20 years of wondering, thought I would buy cheap as it's a keeper. It suffered rear fiber damage at some point in 2014 and was a member of the TVR Car Club in the same year. I was hoping someone on here may know the car and give me some info on it's upkeep before the damage? Reg is P47 0PX. Thank you.

congrats and welcome to the fold!

Mine had similar rear end fiber damage. No history, but looked nice. On closer inspection the workmanship seemed shoddy! Rectified now...
Thanks OleVix.

Thanks lads. Already having a lot of fun in it and over the past two weeks. First time out in the rain yesterday and got very sideways in 2nd on a roundabout ending up facing the wrong way! I was told to take it easy in the wet but couldn't resist it. A good lesson learned early on with no harm done.

I will be driving it all the time, not one to be kept in the garage and polished.

Ooh, good work. I've had my one a month and drove it all weekend but was way too scared to floor it on anything but arrow straight roads.
Mainly because I had to wait another week for the wipers to catch up with the pi55ing rain

Welcome 4.5 - good choice of car!

Easy on the loud pedal in the wet...and dry! You won't have to try hard for a repeat performance!
Thanks Rich. eek Taking all corners really slow now in the wet. angel Still managed to spin in 3rd today on the straight of a motorway in rain, getting the hang of it now though.

Point being - check yours! They might have loads of tread left but if they're old, the rubber will have gone hard and brittle and won't be particularly grippy.

I've checked and I think they're old as there's not a great amount of tread left on them and getting less by the day. whistle
