We went to the Stamford car show yesterday. It started raining and in the rush to get the roof back on I managed to lock my keys in the boot. curse

The other half, who I call 'Handbrake' because all I hear is 'slow down' or 'are you going to stop at the junction?' etc, started to panic.

"Calm down dear, all I need is a screwdriver."
"It'll be embarrassing when the AA van comes"
"I just need to find a screwdriver"
"Its a bank holiday and all the shops are shut!"
"Its a car show. Someone will have a screwdriver I can borrow"
"I'm not sitting on a soggy seat all the way home" and so on, and on, and .......

Next to us were 3 Chims. One was Pupp's (nice to meet the face) and another with its boot open. Hoping against hope and this bloody marvellous chap had a selection of screwdrivers in his car.woohoo So set to work and after poking the hole for a couple of minutes, huge relief and it popped.

Just wanted to thank my unnamed rescuer who saved me from a lot of earache. clap

I popped along but it was not me.
Were the Market Deeping mafia there?
Not sure, I didn't meet up with any of the other TVR owners, I just dropped by as I was passing and parked up next to a very nice T350.
Disappointing TVR turnout compared to previous years. cry
On arrival one solitary mid-blue Chim and never saw the owner all day. Then Pupp parked next to me so some willy waving re turbos. Another blue Chim with Le Mans stripes arrived with the nice man, the very nice man who had the tool. Later the T350 and finally the red Cerb which must have been Gruffalo's?
Last year the club were there, east Midlands I think, who made us very welcome.
At the other end of the field saw another Chim behind a white wedge. Didn't get a chance to speak as the rain came then.

I was booked into the rally until 48 hours before kick off but health reasons prevented me taking part. The route looked good. I've got a reservation for next year's so may see you there?

A good show this, a victim of its own success as it can be busy on a nice day. Stamford is a really nice place with more coffee shops per square mm than anywhere I know.
