Back in the fold

After a brief period of being TVRless I've now just purchased a 1999 Mendip blue Chimaera 450 with only 15,500 miles on the clock (HPI confirmed). As you would expect with car with this low mileage, the are are couple of issues but it seems to have been very well looked after. Outriggers still have some powder coating on them but before I put it on the road I'll be cleaning them off and treating them. I gave them a good inspection with an endoscope and everything at the back seems good and solid.

The 140 miles drive back through horrendous rain on the M1 went without a hitch which was reassuring given the amount of water!

Looking forward to lots of smiles in spring. I've always wanted another Chim since chopping in my old 450 for a Tuscan 2 back in 2005.

Thanks Hoofa. Had lots of cars since then, Tuscan2, the wifes Tamora, race wedge, Tuscan Challenge race car, DB9 but I always wanted another chim

I already love the 450. Bought my first one in 2000 great engine and very tunable. Nothing else would have done.

That's kinda reassuring to someone who chose the Chim over a DB9 three years ago.

The DB9 was my dream car, infact I chopped in my Tuscan 2 for it. Although I have no regrets buying one I didn't like putting it in a car park, I was scared to work on it, I dreaded service time, I hated watching it sat in the garage doing nothing, and I wouldn't put it on a track......Oh and most AM owners, from my experience, are a funny lot. I didn't fit in. Box ticked anyway. Looking forward to kicking tyres again in cold car parks LOL

Yeah, thats the one. Was a bit of confusion at one time with the mileage but turned out to be HPI cock up. I use the scope at work for internal pipe inspection... ooohhh errrr missus.....

No pics for the time being Chris. Car is on axle stands whilst I carry out a partial refurbishment on the chassis
