The cage is made from chromoly and being made to MSA spec with the design and details having been approved by the head engineer at MSA.

It looks a mess at the moment but I am sure it will come together nicely.

The cage should be finished this weekend and then the car goes next door to have all the fibreglass work sorted.

Are you fitting diagonals and rear belt support bar across the back
It will just be a typical 6 point with a door bar. The door bar has to pass between my shoulder and elbow but we are going to have it drop as low as we can as soon as possible. Basically so I can squeeze my lard ass in there.

Anchor points will be added for the harness. I am not sure if there will be a bar across the back of the seats yet.

Wow thanks for the support Dave.
I am going to try my best to lay off the gas for a while this time.
The plan is to try and run regular 11's just on the motor.

Cracking Job - that looks like an excellent fit. What are you doing for lateral triangulation?
I am pretty sure it does not require one for the spec I need but I will ask anyway.

will you be able to get cage out to paint it ?
It's going to be welded in Pel.
David will protect the welded areas to the chassis before sending the car next door to have the fibreglass repaired.
We decided last night to fit a swing out bar in the doorway as access is going to be tight as you can see here.

11th hour chage of plan.
The cage is now getting an additional diagonal across the rear and a swing out bar for each door.
Guess I better get another harness for anyone stupid enough to be a passenger.

I picked the car up today.
Here is the finished job. Apart from modifying the dash top and tidying carpeting etc.

Need to buy proper FIA padding for the areas close to the helmet. Can't believe it's £35 for 600mm!
