Is this the perfect compact fire extinguisher to carry in your TVR?

I really think it could be; the new nano technology JE50 recently won the Which "Best Extinguisher" award and similar accolades from the Caravan industry.

The JE50 is extremely compact yet is as powerful and effective as an extinguisher five times its size, the kind of bulky extinguisher that would be impractical to carry in your TVR.

The compact JE50 deals with all fire types including flammable liquids and electrical related fires alike, and best of all it leaves no residue whatsoever. If you've ever had the misfortune to use a powder fire extinguisher you will know what an horrific mess they make of your engine bay or interior, you could literally be faced with days of cleaning up mad

I've just purchased a few JE50's from Classic Oils and distributed among my mates, on my Chimaera I found the JE50's diminutive size allows it to slip perfectly between the drivers seat squab and the carpeted inner sill area, it sits really snug there with no risk of rolling into the footwell but also means it's perfectly placed grab quickly in the event of a fire.

Lets hope none of us ever need to use a fire extinguisher in our TVRs, but if the worse does happen at least with a JE50 you'll have the right equipment save your car without making a dreadful mess.

Take a look at these videos to see the JE50 in action, even excluding the obvious size advantage for TVR owners you'll immediately see the benefits over traditional type Co2 or powder extinguishers....

Finally the JE50 is maintenance free for 5 Years so you can be confident it'll work when/if you ever need it, read more about the revolutionary new technology JE50 here...

I have no connection with either Fire Tool who distribute the JE50 or Classic Oils where I bought mine, I just think it's a great product so thought all my TVR mates should know about it.

Hope it helps?

Dave.

Looks a good shout, as does the next up in the range (JE100), although that might need some thought to stow safely - been looking for an effective but compact FE for a while and been unimpressed with the conventional choice at sensible money so thanks for the heads-up thumbup
As I buy all my oil from Classic Oils they gave me a discount on the four JE50's I bought yesterday (one for me and one each for three good mates).

The JE50 normally retails for £45 but they let me have them for £40 each, ask for the owner Guy or John on the till, and say Dave with the LPG TVR recommended you call, I'm sure they'll give you the fiver off too.

Every little helps thumbup

EDIT!

Errrr, even though they were marked up at £45 on the shelf in the shop yesterday I've just seen they are £40 on their website, perhaps they dont love me as much as I thought they did laugh

Anyway, at £40 the JE50 looks like excellent value, its as effective as a big boy 12kg powder extinguisher that normally sells for around £60 and will make a dreadful mess.

Smaller, better, cheaper... what's not to like?

I sort of get where you're coming from with this, but isn't the reality for most of us that we're not actually carrying anything when, arguably, it should be compulsory... in that context (if correct) it's a no brainer. JE100 ordered and will post up how I accommodate it
Nice one, looking forward to seeing how you mount the slightly larger JE100 Gary thumbup

I'm also very sure Which wouldn't have given it their award if it wasn't a good product, and for me the videos of this new technology extinguisher in action speak for themselves.

I've come to expect the negative comments from the doubting Thomas' on this forum, some people just can't resist the opportunity to discredit a well meaning contributor who's only objective is to present something that might help his fellow TVR enthusiasts.

To me their negativity says more about their attitude to life and others than specifically what they believe they're commenting on. Its also worth noting these same individuals typically only pop up when they have something negative to say, they're seldom the ones to present anything new or of interest themselves.

Any luck with the Which review?
You need to search for the 2016 National Motorhome Awards in association with "Which Motorhome", more specifically look at the "Highly Commended" award in the new "Accessory" category.

https://www.outandaboutlive.co.uk/motorhomes/infor...

They say....

"The Firetool JE range is extremely effective, tests on Class B fires have shown it to be 5x more effective than halon and 10x more effective that other currently available halon alternatives"

It goes without saying a fire extinguisher is something you need to have total confidence in, so if you're unsure in any way or don't trust the JE50 for whatever reason I recommend you don't buy it.

I'm not selling this product and as such do not seek to promote or defend it, it's just it looked promising technology when I studied the facts and reviewed the videos.

Which is why I thought it might be of interest to my TVR Friends?

But I can't stress enough... "No Likey, no trusty, no buyeee"... simple really wink

Well I can tell you these extinguishers are definitely of Chinese origin, a quick search on YouTube makes that very clear. Saying that if all things Chinese are to be dismissed as untrustworthy we need to throw away 90% of everything that fills our lives.

More specifically these extinguishers are made by a company called Westpeace in Gaoxin District, Shaanxi, China. Here's the manufacturer's website where you can download PDF specification sheets for each model they offer:

http://www.westpeace.com/

The sole UK importer is "Fire Tool" who have negotiated UK exclusivity with the Chinese manufacturer Westpeace, here's the Fire Tool website:

http://www.firetool.co.uk/index.html

Here's the JE100 Pup has gone for in action:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWUR_Z-pRl4

The £60 JE-100 has a bit more capacity than my current JE-50 but looks like it'll still sit neatly between the the drivers seat squab & inner sill. Perhaps I'll put the JE-50 where my tiny traditional (and barely adequate) powder extinguisher currently sits on the passenger side.

The bigger 100 can then go on the drives side ready for the time I genuinely hope never comes, personally I like the fact this new technology extinguisher works on electrical, flammable liquid and especially flammable gas fires and has an excellent shelf life.

And if you believe the advertising it's versatile, compact and makes no mess.... of course if its all complete BS the importer Fire Tool needs to prepare themselves for some horrific UK litigation cases yikes

That's pretty much all I can tell you about these extinguishers and I hope it helps, but I can't stress strongly enough...

"If you don't trust it, don't buy it"
