Just received these of fleabay to try and reduce the noise. Current exhaust is 3" OD makes my fillings hurt!!! However i would like the option to remove when the need to be loud hit me (plis cheaper)

Wondered what people thought......

Current with 7" silencer on floor

Good point. Would wrapping wadding it help. Im thinking I'd have to remove the end cap first.

So i installed them and they make quite a difference for the better.

Went off for a drive, came back but with only 1 silencer. The other fell off 200 yards from home. It broke where the bracket is welded to the circle. Its a weak point for sure.

But the principle is sound. I'll try and get some 3" old exhaust pipe and cut the band so i can compress it, weld the silencer to that and then fix in the exhaust.

Live and learn!

Daz - i think you're lucky to have them.

I tried v8monster, the ebay guy you mentioned a long time ago and Matt at Tvr Ssw who said they could make them but seemed to say they have a bracket too just like the fleabay ones.

I'll double check Matt again as i would prefer your type than fart about cutiing and welding!

Yes. Tailpipes drilled and tapped, bolt tightened but the bracked just isn't strong enough.

I use these in the standard exhaust, they seem well made and have wadding. They use a M6 bolt into a captive nut on the end plate.

Annoyingly they do a larger 2.5" version which I think will fit but the ID goes down to 31mm whereas the version above has a 37mm ID.
They're great....but I've got 76mm/3" tips. Couldn't see larger available.

Just closing the loop in case anyone's interested.

I asked Joolz at kitsandclassics in chesterfield if he could sleeve a set of silencers i got off ebay on the outside and support the back so they are slot in.

Got them back today and very pleased with the result. Fits perfectly with just one threaded bolt.

See pictures in 1st post for original silencers.
