Fuel connection

Does every body else have the same fuel connection as this ?


Having disturbed it, it doesn't want to re seal and leaks from the thread, under which there is an olive !

Is this correct for a fuel connection ?

Now what to do about it ?

Without seeing it separated it's hard to see exactly whats going on but could the rubber hose not be pushed over the olive on the metal pipe and clamped, doing away with that hose barb fitting?


I find this type of clip..... clicky ..... far superior to worm drive clips on small diameter pipes, like fuel pipes.

I thought it looked odd, but it would appear standard fitment !

It did cross my mind just to get rid of it and use a good clip, but there is no barb (ridge)on the remaining pipe, having said that I don't think there is one on the other one either.

Edited, my mistake there are barbes (ridges) on the other pipe.

If the olive is well set on the pipe will it not act as a barb?

I thought of that , but it may be leaking from 'under' the olive, but I guess its only going to act as a mechanical restraint and the clip will seal the hose.

Why did TVR do it like this ?

Was it just to stop people mixing the hoses up ? It cant be because its a higher pressure fixing as it still got the hose clip lower down.

Actually it would be difficult to cut the nut off without disturbing the olive, so maybe I will get a new one. Thanks for your thoughts.

Good enough for me!

Just seems odd to have this fitting then a push on rubber hose with a clip next to it.
