My Grandfather on my Mothers side was of Scottish decent, his great great grandfather (might be only one great) having been sent to Australia circa 1805 for breaking into a 'dwelling house' in Glasgow... My Grandfather, Bruce StClair McCallum, came over in the 1930's from Aus as part of their Speedway team, which toured the UK... He met my Grandmother and they had a daughter (my Mum), but sadly he had a bad accident on the track which damaged his chest, and he died some months later as a result of the injuries... My Mum never knew him, but a few years ago we tracked down relations in Australia my Mum never knew she had....
Anyway, this is the only photograph I have of him, which I'm guessing is from the same or near era as the one above (which is what prompted me to post this..) I think he was about 23 when he died...
