Alex gave me this idea and its a bloody good one. Scarp the standard intake, plenumbase and plenum and get one of these:

Cheap as chips at 265$

or this race style one:

Very expensive at 859$

Then get this:
Clicky
Injectors, TB, ECU all in one box no wiring loom or fuel rail. Self learning ECU. All you need is to sort another dizzy and it can control that too, possibly coil packs but i havent solved that one yet.

Best thing is it will outflow even the triple plenums and is very neat!

Thoughts?

Just spoke to TA performance in the states. He said the Edelbrock intake was st and flowed ok for the 3.5 liter. He recommended the offenhauser intake instead. Summit racing has it for 360 bucks:

Jeez, is that shipping date correct!!!
hehe it might be. My contact at TA is contacting offenhauser directly to see if they have some or when they can make new ones... Summit might be guarding their asses when they say they need 3 months smile

Your embracing this Brexit lark Ole,,,,, that's some lovely casting.

Very flat and low,,, looks like it would all fit under the Bonnet.
I probably saved 2k on my V8D engine buy after brexit, the pound dropped 20%! 5.4 ot 5.5 stage4 coming my way yes

For the Griff?
You jammy ,,,,,,, hehe

I've been thinking of going back to France for a blast in spring,,, but it's going to cost me 20% more and I'll be run out of town biggrin fk sake!
So are you buying one of these for your engine,,, that manifolds a beauty smile
yes for the Grief smile Im thinking this offenhauser intake and the Fitech ECU would simplify the build AND give loads of power + throttle response. And with Clive Fs spaghetti exhaust I'll be pushing 401 NA hp! Suck it Peter!!!!

My main problem is finding info on what intake flows best. I think a french guy on here used the offenhauser on his griff 500 with great results...

these intakes were designed in the 60s for the 3,5 liter buick, or maybe the design was for chevy and just copied over for the BOP 215?

The Harcourt intake is a single plane race style and will perform rubbish on low rpm, great on top end hp... not something for the daily driver

the comment on multi injectors being a better way to meter the fuel is on more modern engines valid but as the 14cux only does bank firing not sequential it is negated i feel the four barrel system may well be an improvement time will tell.

john
I'm thinking the same. V8d is porting out a edelbrock manifold to match the stage 4 heads. Don't think power or drivability will be an issue

Another point is that Ive ordered a 5.5 dominator from Rob. Also Clives equal length headers. The 14cux has no chance to fuel this monster and also the intake/plenum is a restricion.

I got the Edelbrock for 100 pounds, meaning I dont have to spend 600 on intake, plenumbase and plenum.
The Fitech 600 is 800 pounds. But I dont need MS at 600, injectors at 400, wiring loom at 200, wideband at 150.

I do need to sort out the ignition as a standalone. I have 2 vw coilpacks lying around. Was thinking of microsquirt..?

Still gathering all the bits and pieces for this install , hopefully starting on monday.
Just collected the newly vapour blasted manifold
look at this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2DvnoHWagk

If you mill down the wall between the 2 planes, and possibly add a spacer, it will give you more torque and smoothness low down

Just re-read this thread and saw our offer to Ole, and anyone else for that matter.
Six of us are doing a track day at Snetterton next Wednesday (23/8). It's on Javelin's website. There is still space.
The attendees (so far) are moi (turbo Chim), Phazed (5.5 Chim with similar bhp to mine), John Halstead (in something he has rebuilt), Nick Halstead (Ginetta G40 GT5 race car), Alan Jones (Sagaris GTF race car) and hopefully Mat Smith (Chimaera 4.0 race car, 335 bhp).
There are also 4 x Radicals being driven by Scandinavians, several Caterham including a 620R, a MacLaren 675, etc etc.

If anyone wants to join us, book pronto.

http://www.javelintrackdays.co.uk/trackdays/index....
Attendees list is visible.

I can put you up if you can make it, Ole.
Thanks Anthony but I'm still in the USA on the 23. Which happens to be my birthday too smile

Have fun
