Why!
Good question. Just get the feeling it may be time to move on. Had it since 2005, and as you know I've spent a lot of time and a fortune to get it where it is now but I'm just not using it. [It's done less than 23k miles from new!]
When I do get any time it's taken up with other things. Maybe a case of Winter blues along with making the decision to chuck in the towel on my business this month and just wanting to change everything.

Mac, I implore you to at least wait three months or so and watch your investment grow in value by 10-15% just like that.
It's the wrong time to sell right now from the perspective of values.

And you need some things to stay steady in this time of upheaval.
Make a rash decision now and you will only regret it come the Spring.
Sit on your hands and get off Autotrader......

You have done more miles in the last two summers than ever before, and you would be hard pressed to replace it with anything with the same levels of pleasure and excitement for less than £100,000.
Hang on in there - times will get better, especially when it isn't such miserable weather outside.
If I wasn't so busy doing people's tax returns this lovely Sunday afternoon, I would come and beat some sense into you.
hehe Thanks Anthony, very much appreciated.

Where these cars really shine is when you take it on a road trip with a mate, go to europe with it and have some fun in the alps or come to Norway!

smile Thanks for the thought though. Norways tempting scratchchin
PS; private plate, it's actually a 'W' 2000 car

To drive? well, it can be driven like a pussycat with light throttle/negative boost. Low speed and cruising manners are cloud9 and it is smooooth.
Press on a bit [squeezing toes more than moving foot] and it's quick, very quick smokin Press on some more by moving foot a bit and phoook me, I worry about the seat mounts holding up! evil Sends you into fits of giggles thinking about it. Traction can be a problem. It really is down to throttle, how much do you want and how much can you handle at any given time. I LOVE it. Gearbox and clutch are a delight to use also. During the recent trip to Italy in it was faultless. I posted somewhere else that I swear it snears at me when I walk into the garage and would head-butt me for just looking at it. EPIC
Jus sayin........
rofl Cool, thought you worked on rigs mate, not sales.

As per all the other have said, you are mad etc etc.

One thing I thing I will say is have a long hard think about this before you decide. It is very easy to consider to getting rid of toy during winter as the realisation of how much it costs kicks in along with any tied up capital combined with the fact you haven't had any enjoyment out of it recently to warrant the expense.

Yours is a very bespoke customised TVR, probably one of the finest I have seen so if you decide to sell you will not be able to simply change your mind and buy another to replace it. As you well know everyone who you have taken out for a spin it has ruined their TVR ownership experience as they get back in theirs and it feels st slow despite being perfectly adequate before wink

If you are selling to free up capital then you will definitely regret it come summer as money comes and goes but money but it is very unlikely to buy it back again.

If you are selling because you fancy a change then you need to absolutely sure you want to give up the performance and it is the right decision. You surely can never get bored of being a minor TVR celebrity at event whenever you open the bonnet and people's jaws drop to the floor.

I have fought long and hard to keep hold of mine when I really should sell it with a young family. I know for a fact if I were to sell it the money would disappear never to be seen again until I retire. Yes I could do with the money but you cannot put a price on the enjoyment factor not only driving it but speaking bks to others at meets, track days etc. It is a nice break from the normal bullst of life and keeps me sane.
Thanks for kind words bloke, appreciated beer

Keep it mate; the sheer graft and thought you've put into it will never be reflected in what you might realise, and it will gut you when you see someone else enjoying it (I know this from more than one special bike I hastily parted with). The life stuff that is getting in the way currently will not be forever and the itch will come back soon enough. I'd part with a kidney before selling mine and it's a nail next to yours....
You raise a good point Gary, I realise that the market for it would be smaller than say a standard car then again lot's more people are modifying them or maybe want one with all the work done. I know for sure that my expenditure on it will never be realised/returned. Thing is, should I sell as is or maybe sell the drivetrain separately and install a standard engine/clutch/gearbox/driveshafts. Important bit of course, What price? The headlight mod doesn't appeal to everyone but I [and yourself] love it. Keeping me awake at night now.

Well, it seems as though I'm suffering from two conditions. Firstly; 'Mid-lifeguitargodwannabeshouldakeptitupwhenyoung' syndrome. Secondly; and more serious a constant itch known as, 'astonitis'. No cure for the first and I'd refuse treatment anyway but the second I'm not sure. frown

my two Cents, I won't ever get rid of the Chim, it's as special as the McLaren for lots of different reasons, completely raw and a sound better than any Ferrari.

You sound like you have lost the motivation Mac, so the question is what would you do next? - I don't see the value in doing a different engine install, so why not a different model? I don't think re-vamping Tuscans / T350 / Sag makes sense (as it probably lowers their value) - perhaps a Cerbera? lots + lots of room for big power.

I'll just leave these two here as well..... whistle

Crikey, after everything I appreciate the thought, truly thumbup Motivation is the key word.

Jeez Mac I'm only trying to help, it's what mates are for... whistle

At the end of the day (inexcusable football terminology), a mans gotta do what a mans gotta do... you only live once.... life's too short... this isn't a rehearsal... you're a long time dead... you can't take it with you... and then... Man will sit in chair with mouth open for very long time before roast duck fly in... and... Water far away will not put out fire close by... and lastly.... ya know, I always wanted one of those.. I just never got round to it... (etc etc.....)

Some times, you have to ignore your head and follow your heart....

Here's another wink

Like I said,,,, GIT.
