Fuel Tank popping?

Another Imperial Blue Chimeara owner. Had the car four months and get a pop from the fuel tank when it is half empty or less and the fuel pump first start up.
This appears to be due to pressure build up and the tank "inflating". Is this normal ? Has anyone else else experienced this ?

Thanks for the information. Can anyone tell me how I identify the carbon canister other than following the breather pipe through the car ?

I guess the answer is that I look in all the suggested places and find out where the canister is on my particular car. Thanks again for the advice.

Received a few emails over the weekend from Pistonheads saying a reply had added to my post.
Seemed odd as I hadn't posted anything recently.

Just checked out the dates on this one and it was almost 8 years ago !
No wonder I didn't rememeber.
