After privately buying a fully working TVR Chimaera 4.0 1997, on the journey home the drivers side window failed, of course this is now in the open postion rather than closed!

I've checked the switchgear which appear okay (swapped window switches between the working passenger side window and the failed drivers side - no success). I get the impression that these windows are jointly fused, therefore not a blown fuse either.

Has anybody got any ideas of what this fault could be and how much my wallet is going to be damaged?

Is it just a case of resigning myself to a new electric window motor?

Thanks for your advice Matt.

I haven't tried that as I was reluctant to end up holding the entire window glass in my hand after ripping it out of the door!

When I press the window switch there is complete silence, no whirring at all.

Should I try your advice?
