Does anyone have any experience in fitting 17" or 18"wheels onto a chim ? what are the correct offset's etc. I would like to fit a large set of wheels to my 94 4.0HC, but have never seen a chim with anything other than standard wheels. someone must have?

thanks for the info. I can't help thinking that the 18"s off the 4.5 cerbie would look rather nice. have you any pictures of your car or any other chim or griff with larger wheels fitted ? has the change in wheel change the handling at all ? tram lining etc.

Ratty Have you tried www.prorally.co.uk, they sell 18x8 RL-7's for £149 +vat. it's a bit cheaper.

OK Chaps Here we go again. It looks like 17"s raceline RL 7's all round on my chim. Could anyone confirm the wheel size, offset, spacer size if required, and tyre size front and rear. so that I can finally get some prices sorted. Cheers

Rich Yes I got your mail, Many thanks for the info. you say that you have 245-40-17 tyres all round, is this correct ? I have see many 235's but not many 245's. what type of tyres are you using ? how is the tram lining ?

Rich Do you know if "octopus" wheels come in different sizes or are they all 18" ? who makes them ? where can you get them from ? I'm still not too sure if they would look wright, but did see a nice red cerbera with them on the other day. the rear wheels look massive even on a cerby !

richb I too agree about the aggresive styling of the cerbera, if only it was a bit shorter and you could take the top off !! oh then it would be a chimaera anyway they will be a chim about very soon, with RL7's, in anthracite (thanks pete best )if a ever get round to ordering them !

I'm going for 17's all round, as much as I would like to go for 18's, I feel that the 17's would look better. the taller 18's look nice on the longer wheel base cerberas, but would be a bit of a tight fit on the chim. plus the cash saved would go towards some other toys, maybe a re-chip or something
