Pitting on reconditioned kingpins/axles?
Discussion
Ive got some reconditioned kingpins from a well known shop on an exchange basis, but slightly worried that one of them is quite pitted as if it was really sevearly corroded before it was reconditioned. This is both the axle and the upright behind where the hub sits.
Is it something to worry about? Im guessing whoever they send them to fit the bushings blasts and paints them and makes a judgement on their condition, but neither of mine coming off the car have anything more than light circumferential marks on the axle, definately no corrosion. I haven't measured it yet to see if its actualy worn/undersized.
I'll try and get photos later but it and they're at my parents house while i work on it in their garrage (with heat, power and a level floor, luxury!).

Here's the axles in question (click for the full size image)
The outer bearing part of the axle is better but still not entirely smooth.
