Hi Andrew, bloody rare and expensive aren't they. Only one used one on Ebay, it's local to me if you decide to bid for it:

Hi Tony, have made an offer on it, waiting for the vendor to reply. If you think that's expensive try finding an alloy bonnet for under £1200, even Rimmer Bros are charging £1800 for new units...which is just ridiculous. Want a steel bonnet now as the GRP one bought from the well known GRP manufacturer is simply crap...every single area, line, edge etc needs far too much work to make even reasonably good...the moulding is even 3mm flat to the curvature of the inner wing profile.

So, emails sent out to all for a steel bonnet...can anyone help as need to find a bonnet, buzz back to bare metal, prep', prime and spray within three weeks...

All help greatly received...

Thanks Sam, yes have the 'feelers' out across the UK. Have been kindly offered one but this is some way from home so will give it to the end of the week. Have also decided to fit bonnet louvres...so another reason for not hacking up an original alloy bonnet.

Oddly, came across an alloy one that's in mint unused condition. It's not actively for sale, the vendor is asking £1500 which I think is a fair price considering their rarity; anyone looking for a pukka alloy bonnet should contact me and I'll forward the vendors' details.

Hi Andrew,

What are you doing with the oriiginal bonnet? Is it still green?

Richie
Hi Richie, the original bonnet has been sold/gone to another good home. It's definitely still Brooklands Green and the new owner confirmed it matches his car superbly. A+

Oliver, thank you again. I managed to find a very good original steel bonnet relatively local to me...though forgot to get back to you confirming.

Shaun, I pm'd you a little while back as want to chat about the GRP and CF options you mentioned. Could you pm me when you get a chance.

Thank you,
Andrew

Thanks for the note, James. How much, what condition and where are you?
