Jaguar x type 2.5 V6.....any good?

I'm off to buy a cheapo dog carrier, an x-type is nearby for a good price. Just wondered if the 2.5 is a dog (pun!!) or worth it to house a long haired german shepherd on travels.

Thanks Triumph man, it's a manual so not worried about much. Yes, I seem to remember ph mockery re a mondeo....mind you mondeo's aren't that bad so could be worse.

Bought a seat Leon......definitely something wrong with me. The jag was ropey. Saab turbo didn't pull but a lovely little Leon 110 tdi was nestling in the corner. 1 owner 95k and as i had the folding had a phenomenal deal........Bugger. Chip the shepherd fits. :-)
