Back to owning a Jaguar (hopefully)
Discussion
I sold my XJ6 SIII 18 months ago and my XKR a year ago. Have missed the big cat experience and have been looking for a modernish XJ for a while now. Anyway just put the deposit down on this:

It's somewhat leggy (135k miles) Super V8. A few jobs that need doing but at £5k with full Jaguar service history with the invoices to prove I think it's pretty good value for money.

A quick update on my Super V8. Went in to the specialist last week for a once over. From last MOT I knew it needed rear suspension bushes and new pads on the front. On the test drive the specialist managed to generate a gearbox fault and said it didn't seem to be running quite right when under high load ; so a bit of a worrying time when it went back in today. So the total list of bits being done was this.
Change gearbox oil.
Front pads.
Front discs.
rear shock absorber bushes.
Originally thought the front discs could be skimmed but they are a bit to knackered for that to be an option . Anyway gearbox fluid changed today and the problem at high revs was diagnosed as the coil pack on bank 1. Another test drive by the specialist and it's now purring along quite happily. So the pads, discs and shocks are being done tomorrow. The front discs mean my budget of £1000 to get the car right is well a truly broken. The gearbox oil change was on my original list of things to get done so that hasn't affected the budget. Things could have got quite expensive if it had turned out the gearbox was knackered.
