The manual for my new XKR doesn't appear to be worth the paper its printed on. It mostly consists of Elf'N'Safety notices. So I've a couple of quick questions if anyone can help me. It's showed a low battery warning message a couple of times. So my first though was plug it into a battery conditioner when its not in use. The manual seems to imply that any attempt to charge the battery while it is in the car is going to lead the world to end. The dealer assures me that it won't and they do it all the time. So.
1) My car is a convertible and the manual shows where the "remote battery charging terminals" are for a coupé. Does anyone know where they are for the convertible. I found the positive one and if I can't find the negative one I'll just chose a convenient bolt on the body work, but it would be nice to know if there is a proper terminal on the convertible like there is on the coupé.
2) We ended up sitting in the car waiting for a meeting today and with the engine turned off there were all sorts of electrical fan noises. Is this normal? The louder one stopped after about 20minutes, but there was still another, smaller, fan running somewhere. Suffering from computers most of my life I've grown to detest the constant low level noise of fans running, but the main reason for the questions is whether this is normal or whether I've got something running which shouldn't be which is causing a battery drain.
Any thoughts anyone?
