Thinking about getting an XF 3.0D, have looked at a couple but found a 2011 Luxury with 65k and pretty much ready to pull the trigger.

Have read quite a few reviews but has anyone got anything I need to look out for? Have been round the car and looks straight enough/drives well and comes with a 3 month jaguar warranty or optional 12 months for £600.

Any advice appreciated!

It's approved in the sense it's from a jag dealer - stratstone, but they are only offering 3 months - should mebs push them for 12.

It's the old shape one, but yep it's a one owner, fsh car. Newer shape ones seem to be a jump up in price.

Cheers

Thanks for all the replies. Ideally a years warranty would be good, so I'll ask when I go in tomorrow. They do have another car which is a 2011 premium luxury but with slightly more miles for similar money. That one is jaguar approved so I can check if it comes with 12 months. Unfortunately budget won't stretch to a new shape without selling my car (Px ing the wife's golf) and I'd rather not do that.

Also can I ask what sort of mpg your cars are returning as reading some reviews jaguars mpg figures are very optimistic?

48 on a run is pretty decent, can't complain at that and cheers I'll take a look at the jag info site.

Can I ask, when you say it included 12 months warranty was it at no extra cost over the purchase price? Only reason I ask is when I initially went through the costs, they included 12 months warranty, gap insurance and some paint protection thingy all of which were individually over and above the purchase price of the car to the tune of about £1k.

Well deposit is down! I ended up going for the other car I was looking at which was a silver 3.0d premium luxury with 69k. Not sure if its all standard on the PL, but it has reverse camera, heated seats, heated windscreen etc. They upped thier px offer on my car by £500, given me 12 months warranty at for £298 (half price), and waived the rather cheeky (IMO) admin fee of £70.They will also sort some of the minor issues like the curbed front wheel and make sure all the tyres have at least 4mm.

Thanks for all the advice above, very much appreciated.

Went to view the car I put the deposit on today - it was at another site but they had said they could bring it up. Had been told it was mint so a bit unimpressed. First off it was covered in stone chips. Bumper, bonnet, wing, sills and mirrors looked like they had been sand blasted. There was a pretty bad dent in the rear quarter from a car door and numerous other marks around it, some of which may polish our to be fair. In the interior, the drivers seat bolster was worn, the plastic trim on the drivers seat was cracked, and the gear select wheel was covered in dents and marks. They have said they will get back to me with what they are prepared to sort bit looks like its a no-go. Not expecting a new car with it having a good few miles on, but was expecting it to have been prepared a bit with it being from a jaguar main dealer.. At least the despot is refundable so I can either pick another car it get it back

Also I'd left my raybans in the waiting area by accident and some git has pinched them which is a touch annoying!!

Just to update this thread, stratstone came back to me and agreed to sort ALL the issues I highlighted so I collect the car on Saturday hopefully. Have seen the paintwork and looks top notch so happy they have sorted it.

Plus my sunglasses turned up so all good!
