2.2 Diesel Lifespan?

First post in this section and after some advice please. Been looking at x types, had limited my search to under 80k miles. But... some cars a lot nicer but with well up to 100k on them. Question is, what is the 2.2 diesel engine good for, if well serviced etc?

Thanks for the info. Yes, it's getting one that ticks ALL the boxes that's a problem.
